Viractin Cold Sore Treatment was the BEST. I have suffered with coldsores for years. This was the best treatment I have come acrossed. A small amount of this product and no more coldsore. I haven't found an answer to my question yet. Is Viractin still available over counter or do I need a prescription for it?

Re: Nancy (# 60)

I haven't found anywhere that still carries it, but someone posted the other day that their Walmart was able to order it for them. I think they don't make it anymore, but I will definitely try that - I've been nursing my last tube along for quite a while now!
I've also found relief from straight eucalyptus oil (get a reputable brand)
HTH!

Everyone is saying the same thing - none of the other cold sore meds worked and Viractin did! I'm considering taking what's left of mine and having it reverse engineered. lol Seriously!
Meanwhile, I have a tiny bit left in my tube and have found, as one user mentioned way back in this thread, eucalyptus oil helps a lot!

It's being pulled off the market because it DOES work. Thank the the alphabet agencies for taking away anything that works. More control?

Re: Nancy (# 64)

I’ve ordered it from young living and DoTERRA. They’re two of the most popular reputable brands. There are others out there, but I can’t recall the brands. Should be able to find them pretty easily with an online search though. Just make sure the one you get is food grade. HTH!

Re: Verwon (# 1)

I agree with everything Casey says 100% Abreva??!! Are you kidding me? Look my friend, you obviously haven't had a cold sore b4. None of that s*** you named in the stores actually works. I've tried all of them, but viractin was the s***! 2 or 3 days your s*** was gone like f***en magic! That took it off the shelf because it actually works.

Re: Verwon (# 1)

You have obviously never used Viractin on a cold sore to say it really doesn't do anything to shorten the life of a cold sore. This was the best medication EVER introduced for relief AND shorten the life of a cold sore. I still have a tiny bit left in an old tube that I hang on to for dear life in case I get cold sores again.

Re: Amen (# 66)

As with you, my body chemistry works best with Veractin for Cold Sores to terminate it. BUT to get the product I need to purchase it online to get the best price as no Pharmacy carries the product here in Canada.
