I started on allopurinol 100 mg tab in oct since then have gained 25lbs. Anyone else have this happen? ## Hello, LaceyLu! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. According to the FDA, Allopurinol is used to treat excess uric acid and it has been reported to cause rapid weight gain in a small percentage of people that take it. Other side effects may possibly include sore throat, nausea, dizziness, bruising and joint stiffness. Have you spoken to your doctor? It might not be the right medication for you to take. ## I am on 200 mg a day, I didn't notice until I saw your post, but I have gained 50# in 2 years. I thought I was overeating but I actually eat weather and don't hardly ever eat junk or fast food. I will definitely be bringing this up with...

orange pill from Mexico. What is it? ## Sorry, foreign medications aren't regulated like those in the U.S. under the auspices of the FDA are, so finding information on them is very difficult. ## I received that orange pill, called Dolgramin, from a pharmacy in Peru. I got it for sore throat and inflammation of the glands. ## For me this orange pill has been a miracle pill , nothing works better or take away the pain and inflammation like this medicine , Gout is probably the most painful condition I’ve ever experienced, I have a great Insurance plan and I’ve visited many different doctors , including trips to emergency rooms and no other medicine or prescription have the same effect , ## Dolgramin is a pill you can get in Peru is an anti-inflammatory. He ,then , send me to a Therapist, for massages and a few pedaling excersices..... but one of the therapist, told me, that if I was on Alluporinol, some people experience the same swelling. So, of my own, I stop Allupinol, and my swelling and soreness, disappear. Now I have had tophis, from the uric acid... and a rheumatogist put me again on Allopurinol, and it has been 3 months, and today, the same happens, my feet are sore, when I walk, and very swollen.... Can taking Allopurinol cause a diabetic to develop kidney problems? ## My father had a quadruple by-pass and kidney failure, should he continue taking allopurinol along with these medications: coumadin, lipitor, lisinopil, metrplolol and pholso? ## Allopurinol has been known to cause kidney failure as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, kidney insufficiency, and confusion, according to FDA reports. Ref: Medline Plus Allopurinol However, diabetes and many other medications can also cause kidney problems, so there is really no way to say for sure what has caused kidney issues. What was the doctor's opinion? Carolyn, have those all been prescribed for him by his doctor? He should take what they have prescribed, and not make any changes, without their approval.

i bought some pills while working in russia , they are capsules, one side is blue and the other side is clear with tiny white capsules in them, they are called ketohan , i cant remember what they are for, can you help please. ## Hi loobilu, Unfortunately, I'm not finding anything whatsoever pertaining to the name Ketohan. I also tried looking up different variations of it's spelling, but nothing has turned up on search engines, other than completely unrelated topics. Are you sure Ketohan is the correct name of this medication? If it's real then it shouldn't be that hard to verify it's existence, let alone what it might be used for. If anyone else happens to recognize this drug, I'd appreciate it if you can share some details about it and where we can find more in...

Found this pill in my nephews pocket but cant find it any where online. It. Is a white capsule with "N020" on it and nothing else and it it is not the anti-diarrhea pill ## Allopurinol made by NorthStar Rx bears the same color & imprint "N020", except that their pill is round and not a capsule. However, drug manufacturers have been known to make alterations to their products without any prior notice to the public/patients. For this reason alone, I think it would still be a good idea to contact NorthStar Rx directly, just to ensure that you've covered all angles. NOTE: Allopurinol is used to treat gout and kidney stones. Have you spoke with your nephew yet to help shed any light on the subject? Can someone enlighten me, please? I take the following medicines: Eltroxin, Cardicor, Zartan, Amloc, Puresis, Allopurinol, Plenish K, Ultimag, Estro-pause, Adco-Dol (for migraines. Allergic to everything else, also those supposed to be preventative.) My concern is the Allopurinol. I have read somewhere that it may cause sudden death. Because of the Puresis I have no alternative, as nothing I do dietwise, do anything to bring down the uric acid count. Please advise me, as I am with my back to the wall. Rumoquin N F Diclofenaco sódico 75mg Metocarbanol 200mg Dexametasona .75mg Excipiente cbp 1 tablet By Marcel Laboratories I suffer from gout so when I get an attack I take one, also heard is good for arthritis, and and of course Rheumatic diseases. My doctor said that is a drug cocktail and there is nothing like that in one pill. Take it if necessary, it won't cure any disease, it only kills and relaxes the pain/area affected. It really works ! ## The ingredients are… Diclofenac, which is classified by the FDA as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. Methocarbamol, which is a muscle relaxant and Dexamethasone, which is a steroid class medication. Thus, one shouldn't take it without their doctor's approval, because there are some risks associated with it and it may be...

Is Allopurinol mfg by qualitest gluten free? ## Hi edb, From what I could gather, Allopurinol from Qualitest contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and sodium starch glycolate. Unfortunately, "sodium starch glycolate" is heavily regarded as a questionable substance for those with a gluten intolerance; since it is derived from starch. So I personally wouldn't recommend taking it without your doctor's prior consensus. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Allopurinol Details I hope this helps! ## I got a new script of Allopurinol 300mg by Accord and need to know if it's gluten free? I've been on Allopurinol 300mg once a day since early 90's, with no side effects at all. I have not had a kidney stone since I've been on the Medication. Two weeks ago I refilled my prescription and the medication that I usually get is from Ingenus. Much too my surprise I got Accord instead, from my Walgreens Pharmacy and after a few days I noticed that I was getting constipated. Ingenus has discontinued Allopurinol. I know that side effects from Allopurinol never mention constipation and I was wondring if the cause could be the fillers and binding agents. Have anybody run into constipation with Allopurinol? What manufacturer would be a better alternative to Accord for thiis drug. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ## Sorry to hear about your situation. According to NIH,...
