Glyx-13 Discussion (Page 6) (Top voted first)

Updated

There seems to be some demand for a GLYX-13 discussion (now known as Rapastinel) so I would like to start one here.

The extension study stated last week. I just had my second treatment of 10 mg/kilo weekly. It goes for 4 years or until FDA approval. It is reportedly only for those who participated at least to week 12 in the previous study, but they did expand participation to those in that study to week 8 already. Perhaps it will/ or has open/ed more.

Anyone know the most recent news on Glyx13 or any other drug currently in phase 2b or later in the same drug category ? I'm trying to get an idea if anyone knows, when a possible release date, or any idea of how much longer it could take until it's available from my Psychiatrist ? I've heard NAUREX has completed phase 2b and that there's talk of doing a phase 3 round. Any idea how many phases, even now that it's being "fast-tracked" until approval can be granted? Are we looking at months, or years? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Glad to hear you are seeing improvement. I believed I read somewhere that the pill form exerts a stronger antidepressant effect, hopefully, that is the case. How does it affect your energy levels and motivation? Have you seen improvement in that aspect?

Wish you continued improvement,
Darwin

Is there any news on progress of GLYX13?

I read it may be available by 2016 but it didn't seem like a credible source.

Catpower, I couldn't get into the GLYX-13 study either, which was why I looked into the AZD6765 study. I take Imitrex, too, and it was allowed, along with everything else I take except for Dexedrine, and I was allowed to wash out of that.

Hang in there. I think these drugs are showing so much promise that new trials will be starting soon.

Yes, I was in a clinical trial of Ketamine infusions last summer. No Psychomimetic effects whatsoever. Just 'the miracle' after 3 infusions, which was sustainable with one infusion per week @ 50 mg. in 500cc of saline, infused over one hour. Just felt a little tired after. But like a new, greatly improved me! It was wonderful. But then the study was over. I got 2 infusions from a quack that charged 1k per session. First one was 50mg. Felt a little high after, very short lived. The next time he doubled it to 100mg. Talk about a bad trip! I saw my recently dead mother and was crying. I used to love tripping back in the day, but that really sucked! Never went back. I heard Fiefel was doing infusions, won't be covered by insurance as it's considered experimental. Feel free to ask any other questions.

Hi John,

I can tell you that I really felt no response after the first infusion of the NMDA study drug I was on (AZD6765), but I did start to feel a noticeable improvement in mood after the second infusion. I was enrolled at a study site in San Diego.

It could be that these new NMDA drugs work in a significantly different way than ketamine, but I just wanted to let you know what my experience was.

Astra Zeneca, the study sponsor, is supposedly going to start an open-label study once the data from the study I was in is processed and analyzed. It's probably going to be posted on clinicaltrials.gov when they're getting ready to start.

Hang in there. I think there's going to be a lot of stuff happening with these new drugs in the next few years. As one of the study docs said to me, this is cutting-edge medicine.
