I've had yeast infections for years. Somewhat chronic since being diagnosed diabetic. I lost a lot of weight, and my doctor says I am no longer considered diabetic. With that said, I have yeast infections so often, I don't usually know I have them. I find out I have them when I go for checkups. I said all of that to say this. I finally have an ARNP that takes me seriously when I say I have Y.I. almost constantly. She prescribed fluconazole, 5 days, wait 3 days, then another course of 5 days fluconazole. My yeast is not only worse, my husband and I had Intercourse and I've been in pain ever since. What the heck?? Any ideas? Btw, I don't have much discharge, just itching, usually, but this time it's itching, pain, burning. I am also using vaginal estrogen for 6 weeks, ...

Advice please.. I got my first yeast infection after taking amoxicillin for a sinus infection. Doc prescribed fluconazole 150mg I took one with the antibiotics a week ago and finished the antibiotics today and took another fluconazole as told. Still have some itchiness and soreness how long does this last? Is it normal to be sore for a while after? ## It may take a few days for you to experience results, if things don't improve after approximately 3 days, or if they get worse, you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and stomach pain. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I have taken one 150mg Fluconazole tablet to treat a yeast infection as a result of taking antibiotics. On the last night of taking my antibiotic I was in so much discomfort that I decided to take a Fluconazole to treat the thrush on the same night. I took my last antibiotic around (7pm and the Fluconazole much later at night before going to bed.) The symptoms have improved slightly within the last three days but I am still experiencing a very watery large amount of white discharge and red/soreness in that area. The Fluconazole I was prescribed had the instructions written by the pharmicist saying "Take one immediately and one in a week if required." It's been 3 days since I have taken it and was wondering whether it would be too early to try and take another as I am finding...

Hi, I've been prescribed 50mg per day for 7 days, for a persistent breast thrush infection. I've just realised I've forgotten to take it for the past three days - I'm on so many other pills too!! Will this reduce its effectiveness? Do I need to go back to the doctor to get another course? ## Yes, that might, you may need to take another full course of the medication. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain.

I was diagnosed with BV and a yeast infection over a week ago. I was prescribed the two meds above. I took diflucan immediately, and the metronidazole for five days before the side effects took over my body (mouth sores, stomach pains and cramps, nausea). After day five, I couldn't take it anymore and took the second diflucan because along with the side effects, I just experienced a frequency in urination, burning and itching, but not in the way of a typical UTI. I went back to urgent care and the doc said it didn't look like BV, but yeast, and prescribed topicals that aren't making the itching or pain any better. I am in so much pain and don't know what to do. ## Yeast infections are not usually painful. They are caused by a fungus and while they may cause itching, and ...

It may take several days, before you see results. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. Do you take a lot of tub baths? Do you use a lot of perfumed soaps? Are you on any other medications? All of these are factors that could cause recurring yeast infections.

I actually have recurrent yest infections the doctors tell me its an sti but iv been with the same person and we married how can I managed to have a healthy sec life and tho even without having intercourse I get them what can I take for recurrent yeast infections.....I found that fluconazol works better than diflucan for me what do you suggest. ## While it is not really common, there is a chance that your partner may be a carrier and could be repeatedly infecting you. Has your partner ever been treated or tested for it? Diflucan and Fluconazole are the same, Fluconazole is just the generic form. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain.

I took 2 pills in one day and the dosing instructions state that I should take 1 dose and repeat in 3 days. I took one the night before. Please advise. ## While only 2 pills should not cause any overdose dangers, except in certain rare cases, such as being allergic to it, or it interacting with other medications, you should always double check with your doctor, or pharmacist. Additionally, your doctor may want to prescribe another dose to be taken at a later date. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. How are you feeling? Did you experience any issues?

I found pink oblong pill with numbers 5413 on one side and 2 triangles pointing toward each other, one on top of the other, with numbers 200 following. ## Hello, Selena! How are you? This tablet contains 200mgs of Fluconazole, which is an oral antifungal medication that's commonly used to treat yeast infections. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, headache and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## 5413 pinkish pill 200 on other side. Can it be used for throat infection???

Can I use fluconazole to treat a vaginal infection? I have a bad smell coming from this region after having my menses. ## This medication is used to treat fungal infections, such as a vaginal year infection, which does not cause such an odor, according to the symptoms listed by the NIH. An odor is usually caused by a bacterial infection, which will require an antibiotic from your doctor. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Has there been any change? ## I apologize, that should read yeast infection, rather then year. As in vaginal Thrush.

I have mistakenly taken Fluconazole 150mg for 3 days in a row and not once a week as the dr prescribe for me. Is this an overdose? Do I need to seek help? ## Hello, Betty! How are you? No, it can be taken daily, though you may experience more side effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea and stomach pain. However, it would be best to inform your doctor, just to be careful and so they can prescribe more for the next few weeks, if necessary. How are you feeling?

Hi, I just took fluconazole single dose last night. However, the watery discharge still there. How long does it take to be completely gone? And what food should i avoid during this period (that will affect the effectiveness of the fluconazole) as i know the fluconazole lasts 7 days in our body. ## Hello, Lice! How are you? It will take a few days for the Fluconazole to full eradicated a yeast infection and there is no food or beverage that you need to avoid, as reported by the U.S. FDA. However, a watery discharge is not usually the symptom of a yeast infection. It is usually thick, white and looks like cottage cheese. Are you sure you have a yeast infection? Did a doctor confirm it?

Hi there, I have been taking antibiotics for the past five days, with two days remaining in the course of treatment. I developed thrush within the first two days of taking antibiotics. I'm just wondering if I'm able to take a course of fluconazole one now or if I have to wait until I finish the course of antibiotics? Thanks ## Hello, Lucy! How are you? You can take it now, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Some women that are prone to thrush take it with their antibiotics as a preventative. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been prescribed fluconazole but I took the morning after pill last night.. May seem like a silly question but can I take the fluconazole if it's within 24hrs of taking the morning after pill? ## Hello, Lux! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check to be sure. I have Tinea versicolor and have had it for about 11 years now. I didn't actually go to the doctors about it until a few months ago. I have since been prescribed a shampoo which I used for 3 days and didn't see a difference and for the last 9 weeks have been taking fluconazole as I have suffered from bouts of thrush for equally as long. I've been told the fluconazole will definitely clear the TV but so far, nothing on both fronts. I'm brown in complexion and have light patches from my belly button up to my neck, and all over my back. Now that I know it can be cleared, I feel I've really got my hopes up but have not seen a single bit of progress. Is there literally ANYTHING that's proven to get rid of this for life!?
