Fioricet Advice

Need advice on taking Fioricet. I have headaches and have been taking this for 7 months. My headaches are getting worse and I'm getting addicted. I cut down to 2 a day, and I think I should stop. NEED ADVICE. I am very tired all day as well. Please write back.

I AM NOT A DOCTOR. This is my experience. Pain doctor prescribed Fioricet for my horrible headaches after car accident. I had terrible rebound headaches I knew were being caused by daily use of Fioricet (no codeine). I was taking from 1-3 pills per day, for 4 months. I cut it down to one pill in the morning the first day, and substituted ONE Excedrin Migraine for the evening dose(s). To my surprise, one Excedrin Migraine took away headache. I have had no withdrawal symptoms from the butalbital. My max dosage per day was 150 mg. I will say that it is scary to stop the Fioricet, but the worsening of the headaches and the increased frequency with which I was dosing just was going nowhere good.

Unfortunately, not all prescription drugs are effective for everyone that tries them. Some people get great results from Fioricet, some don't.

It does contains Acetaminophen, Caffeine and Butalbital.

There are other options available, but this site is not medical professionals to advise you on what to use.

Have you tried talking to your doctor regarding other treatment options?
