My Son 10 years old. He is hyper in nature. Doctor advised to go for Attentrol 10. He mentioned to continue for 2 years (one table after the breakfast on a day). If we continue to give this tablet, is there any side effects will be there? Or if i found any good improvement after 6 months later, shall i stop the medicine? or How long shall i continue this medicine of Attentrol 10? Kindly advise me., Thanks.

Attentol contains the active ingredient Atomoxetine, it's an SNRI that's approved to treat ADHD.

Learn more Atomoxetine details here.

As to how long he should take it, you really should discuss that with the doctor, though a full 2 years may not be necessary. The doctor should be monitoring him on a regular basis to check his status and progress.

Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, irritability and weight changes.

Has the doctor provided any further advice?

Hyper children are treated for ADHD. I request you to google and find the info. on this ADHD with open eyes and without any hesitation. Such behaviour can be improved. Parents, school teachers should play an important role in this. My daughter of same age is being treated similarly. Though she is a briliant and score more than 90% always, she goes hyper many times in a day. Psychological counselling, seating with counsellers will definately improve. I am in India and I got a good doctor for this improvement. All the best.
