Doctors In Virginia That Prescribe Hydroco/apap 10/325

Updated

Thanks in advance for any help as this is my first time using a forum such as this. I live in Richmond, Virginia and I work as a Director for an Information Technology firm. In January of this year, I tore my ACL. Due to outsourcing, I know that if I take the time off work I will probably not have a job when I return. That said, after seeing the knee specialist who will eventually be handling my surgery I met up new family doctor that said he would prescribe me the 10/325's for about 3 months - both of us hoping I would have surgery within the 3 months. Well, things haven't changed at work and now I'm here stuck without a refill and I don't have the time to go see multiple doctors to get the needed script. Does anyone know of any doctors in Richmond, Va., or somewhere nearby, that I can see for at least 3 months supply? Thanks again and I look forward to your response.

I am so sorry you are in pain and unable to do anything about refills...
I don't live in Virginia, but...have you tried the internet? Yes, it is expensive, but, if they help your pain it might be worth it to "bite the bullet" and order some?
Good luck, and pray you find some help (I live in Ca)

Do NOT order them on the Internet! It's illegal and you'll end up losing your job because you are in jail! Go back to the doctor you went to before and explain your situation to him, he should understand, if not have him refer you to an ortho, explain to them what is going on and why you can't have the surgery right away. I hope you find the relief you need

I so apologize for suggesting you go to internet for your pain rx....I reacted "from the heart"...and, I while typing, I was thinking, they do have Drs...(am I nieve, or what) that you talk to first...oh, this is NOT my nature, and I DO NOT ORDER ANY MEDICATIONS OVER INTERNET...BUT, I do know PAIN (and only the person seeking help can honestly answer that question)...I feel so embarrassed...I do not want anyone to "get in trouble"...and...(duh) afterthought....there HAS to be a real, live Dr who will listen to you, take xrays (whatever needed) and go from there...again, to ALL, I apologize...Thanks for reading me.

John, have you considered seeing a pain management specialist, until you can have the necessary surgery?

That would probably be your best bet, because regardless of your work situation, most doctors aren't going to want to keep prescribing narcotics. They are going to advise you to take the time off and have the surgery.

Thanks for the response and I apologize for the delay. Things have been rather hectic on my end with work and, as it turns out, I have now been laid off due to outsourcing. I called around a set an appointment with another doctor who basically prescribed me a 10 day supply and stated that I needed to go see a pain specialist, which he referred me to. After seeing the pain management specialist he stated that he only deals with long term pain and since surgery is hopefully in my near future that I need to go back to the original family doctor. I explained my situation, gave him all the notes from the knee specialist who will perform the surgery, and he stated that he will write a letter to the family doctor (and copy me on that letter) in hopes he will write the needed script. I also explained that I have a new house, a new Benz, not to mention a plethora of bills etc. and can not continue to pay doc fees without having results. Finally, the last thing I want to do is order pain meds off the Internet but at some point I have to draw the line because I do need to be able to interview at other companies. Any advise?

No worries but thanks for your help. Hopefully things will work out so I can avoid having to take that route.

None of us law-abiding, community contributing individual types want to break the law. Why is it then, that my neighbour, who has no pain/injury, seems to have no problem getting pot, and the like, on a weekly basis; on payday. I however, have to jump through hoops backwards, and my current Physician looks at the floor whilst I explain my very lengthy history of WHY I need to continue with an Oxy Script?

I just want to be able to function and to continue to contribute in my community. I don't lie, cheat, or steal. I have a high paying professional position; and I want to keep it. (I pay over 30 thousand a year in various taxes)

Things are getting SO difficult for the honest person to get what they actually NEED to continue to function...and to continue to contribute, to the community.

It would be SO much easier to get a script (and fill it...long term), if I just quit my position, and went on disability/welfare. (Start sucking the government "TEAT").

WHY? Why should we be afraid to say "Internet Script" or "Oxycodone"? Why is my neighbour so "unafraid" that he can smoke his marijuana/joint on his front porch with his buddies, and laugh the night away...?

I NEED some damn oxycodone so that I can sleep (pain free/less) get up at 6am and go to my 80hr a week job, and the government can get their 30 thousand for the year...

(C5-6 Rupture)

Just about fed up with all of this double standard crap.

N.B. - MY "neighbour" now gets me my 5s when my script "gets lost" / "DR. on vacation", sent script to "wrong pharmacy", not fillable until "after midnight"... AND, all the rest of the "crap".

IF you know what you need, what will work for you, and how to get it... Just do it.

Signed..
