I agree, it is bad business. The doctor's response to my inquiry on this was not helpful. The warnings were not heeded.
Turns out that my hunch about there being something else was right. I pressed that a culture be taken and it was the right move. I had a staph infection on my scalp. The script did nothing. Antibiotics did.

I was given this foam and because my scalp sores are so acute, it hurts to put it on. I feel like a deep pain penetrates down my head. Also, my doctor rx'd it for 6 weeks even though 2 weeks is the recommended maximum. Questions: 1) Is this sensation typical and 2) should I be concerned that the doctor is not heeding the recommended time for use in the package? Thank you. It is not working on my scalp and my doctor has yet to take a sample to see what we are really dealing with.

I'm curious as to why someone would give you a prescription based tube of cream without telling you what it was. Bad business...

Clobetasol propionate cream and ointment contain the active compound clobetasol propionate; a synthetic corticosteroid, for topical dermatologic use.

It is indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. Treatment beyond 2 consecutive weeks is not recommended, and the total dosage should not exceed 50 g/week because of the potential for the drug to suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis.
