I am taking ibilex 500 cap, 2 tablets twice a day for an abscess on the back of my neck. How long before I should feel some relief. ## Hello, Elizabeth! How are you? I'm sorry about the abscess. The general rule with antibiotics is that if they are working, you should see no worsening of your condition after being on it for a full 24 hours and you should start to see improvement after taking it for a full 3 days. The active ingredient in Ibilex is listed as being Cephalexin and the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My doctor prescribed ibilex 500mg as an antibiotic for chest/head cold symptoms and I am looking for more information please.

I have a abcess tooth wanted to know if keflex 500 mg will take the infection out. ## Hi Jackie, From what I could gather, Keflex (cephalexin) can in fact be used to treat a tooth infection. Apparently the usual adult dose for bacterial infections is listed as being anywhere from 250 to 500mgs every 6 hours; to be taken for up to 1-3 weeks, depending on the severity of the infection.
