I have a urine test in about 2-3 weeks. I've only taken 1 30 mg busiprone 5 days ago. I was wondering if it would show up in my 5 panel standard urine test. ## No, this is not a medication that is normally checked for on standard drug panels, since it is not a controlled substance, according to FDA listings. However, there is always a risk of a false positive. How did your test turn out? Are you on any other medications?

I'm being drug tested for a job tomorrow and I took one 10mg tablet of buspirone this morning and about a week ago I took like two 1 mg tablets of lorazepam and like 3 buspirone and I was just wondering if it would show up tomorrow in my urine test? ## Buspirone is not a controlled substance, so it is not usually tested for on standard employment drug tests, according to FDA reports. The Lorazepam, however, is listed as being detectable for approximately 6 days, as reported in various NIH studies. How did your test turn out?

I wanna know if I took these buspirone 15mg if it would feel the same as xanax? I have really bad anxiety and came across these? ## Hello, Nick! How are you? No, it does not work, nor affect you the same as Xanax. Buspirone must be taken for several weeks to a month, in order for it to reach its full level of efficacy in your body, to see if it will help you, or not. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and irritability. Alternatively, Xanax, can be taken, as needed, and will have some immediate effect to relieve anxiety. Is there anything else I can help with? ## No, this pill is not in the benzo family. It's more like Prozac, Zoloft or something like that. It's not narcotic if that's what your needing. Might ma...

Was taking buspirone 5mg for anxiety and it helped but once Ihad my prescription refilled to buspirone 15mg (rectangle split in 5s) it has had a bad effect and isnt helping at all but making me worse. I take the same amount of five at a time but its somehow effecting me different. Is it possible to have adifferent reaction to the same medication just because of the change in mg? ## Hi sam, From my own experience as well as the feedback of numerous other patients, I do believe that changing tablets, manufacturers, etc, can bring about a different reaction - even if you're taking the same medication and dosage. My stance on the matter is based on the seemingly ever-changing list of inactive ingredients (also referred to as binders/fillers) that each pill is composed of. What I've ...

It was given to my dog by a vet. ZE36 is the imprint on this little white oblong pill. Can't remember what it is or why it was given to my dog. ## Called the Vet,and it was prescribed for Allergies ## Hi Sheila, Thanks for the update. I'm not sure if the Vet gave you a specific answer as to what it might be called, but I did some research and found a white oblong pill with ZE 36 to be identified as Buspirone hydrochloride (5mg). This medication is marketed for use in treating anxiety disorders - So it's unclear to me how it would be beneficial for allergies, but my guess is that animals respond differently to it than humans? Nevertheless, for your own verification, the pill itself is manufactured by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and carries a National Drug Code of 68382-0180. A smal...

Does anyone know what kind of pill this is? Has 555 on one side and 863z on the other. ## Hi Alib, Based on the description provided, the closest match I'm finding is a white oblong shaped pill with "5|5|5" on one side and "ZE 38" on the back. But if you were to hold it upside down, the back side would look strikingly similar to 863z... This particular pill reportedly contains 15mgs of Buspirone hydrochloride, which is mainly used for treating anxiety. Is there any chance you might've misinterpreted the imprint? ## Yes...thank you David. I appreciate the information. ## Is there an expiration on these?

I put on 20 pounds after taking buspirone for a year ... Will I lose weight when I stop taking it? ## Hello, Joan! How are you? Yes, if it was the sole reason for the weight gain, then you'll most likely lose it, after coming off of the medication. However, as listed by the NIH, withdrawal effects may include anxiety, depression and mood swings, so you should speak to your doctor about doing a proper taper, rather than a sudden withdrawal, to help mitigate the withdrawal effects. Is there anything else I can help with?

Will it interact with clozaril? Thanks. ## Hello, John! How are you? There's no definitive time frame for when side effects may start, if you experience any, it depends on the person and the dosage.
