I have just started this along with my usual rx for metformin 500 and the Dr. also started me on Byetta 10, I am having severe bloating and gas and it all smells like chemicals . can anyone tell me if this is normal? I have been nauseated also. Today is my 4th day of these new rx's.

It is hard to say for sure, drugs will act differently for different people, most side effects though, do wear off after a few weeks of use, after your body adjusts to the new medication.

You just started a few days ago, so you sould probably give it more time and see if it starts to taper off.

If they get worse, or are particularly bothersome, then please speak to your doctor.
