Did you have a positive reaction to the last ACE inhibitor you tried? Why did the doctor end up taking you off? I realize everyone is subject to respond differently to these types of meds, but some other alternative drug classes (for treating hypertension) you could ask your doctor about are: Alpha or beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, loop diuretics, or angiotensin II receptor antagonists (ARBs).

Hi Richie,

According to NIH, Lisinopril is classified as an ACE inhibitor, indicated for use in treating high blood pressure as well as heart failure.

Concerning what time of day it should be taken is entirely up to you and your doctor. To my knowledge there are no specific details in the manufacturer's product pamphlet that suggest taking it at a given time of day. Furthermore, information I have read on dosing only depicts it as being taken once daily. With that said, I'd encourage you to contact your prescribing doctor for administrative protocols that are right for you.

And to answer the question in your thread title, "Lupin" is simply the name of the drug manufacturer (Lupin Pharmaceuticals).

I hope this helps!
