Anybody Have A Good Experience With Clonidine? (Top voted first)

Updated

I have cfs since 1987 and fibro since 1994 (adrenal fatigue is the true illness). Recently I notice I have low blood volume, my pulse is always rapid, I get maybe 2-3 hours of sleep in 24 hours, high blood pressure, as well as other symptoms. I read clonidine will specifically help with all these symptoms. I just started a .1 once a day rx.

I was very hopeful about this drug helping me but I am reading so much about people having bad experiences. Is this an addictive drug? My doctor and pharmacist did not say it was an addictive drug.

If you have taken this drug did you become addicted? I am worried now. Although, I have to admit, my life in the last several months hasn't been a life. No sleep, can't stand up for than a few minutes, dizzy when standing from laying down.

Thanks for reading.

Hello, Susan! How are you?

Yes, many people have had good experiences taking Clonidine. What you need to be aware of, however, is that most of them have no reason to come to a website like this and talk about it. Thus, mostly what you read online are posts from those who had some type of problem and turned to the Internet to find more information, or support.

It is not addictive, though your body may become dependent on it and, if you ever stop taking it, you may need to do a slow taper, or replace it with a different medication.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, drowsiness, sedation, dry mouth, and loss of appetite.

Is there anything else I can help with?
