Amlovasc contains the active ingredient Amlodipine, which is a calcium channel blocker that is commonly used to treat high blood pressure.

It may cause side effects, such as: dizziness, headache, nausea and stomach pain.

In your cause, your systolic number of 100 is actually low, however, the diastolic of 120 is very high.

Has your doctor ordered any other tests to see if there is something causing this?

My BP is 150/90 and age is 33 years. A very senior consultant had prescribed me Embeta XR-25, but after taking it around a week the BP didn't improve. Now I went to another doctor and he prescribed me Amlovas-5. Should I continue with Embeta XR 25, will it take some more time to improve situation or Should I change my medication and start taking Amlovas-5. Please suggest.

My mother is 77 year old and taking TELMA-40 as prescribe by Doc. but Her BP as on to day is always around 180/100, 170/70 any time when checked. She feel dizzy in the morning when she gets up otherwise she is fine thru out the day. Now she is taking TELMA-40. Earlier she used to take AMLOVAS..5, that time her BP was always 160/60 or 160/40 etc. Should she change to AMLOVAS.5?. Is Doc consultation is required to change the medicine.

I have been prescribed by my doctor Amlovas 5 mg for blood pressure reduction. By this drug, the pressure reduced from 140/100 to 120/80. But after taking this drug for 15 days, I observed that my feet have swolen. Has anybody observed this kind of side-effect ? I am male and 52 yrs old.

My mother is 78 years old and is taking amlovas 5 mg daily. For last few days she has been having attacks of dizziness and fainting which lasts for a minute or two. Her BP is 110/50 and pulse rate is between 85-90. She is also taking metformin, glimipiride and pioglitazone. Should she stop amlovas and/or pioglitazone?
