But I ask my doctor if he could take me off of that and give me Tramadole 50mg and with Tramadole you wont have the side effects from the pain killers it will take all of that away. Hello. I am a 31 year old woman who was diagnosed 5 years ago with Psoriasis and more recently Psoriatic Arthritis. In addition to taking Humira for this, I also have been prescribed Tramadol 50mg 3x a day. While this drug may not help a lot of you with your symptoms, it has done wonders for me in more ways than one! I would first like to say though that even thought my prescription is for 3x a day, I only take one first thing in the morning and it helps greatly with my pain! Now for my question. My doctor has just retired and I have been on Tramadol for many years and find it very hard when I stop taking it. I too have increased energy and cheerfulness with a single 50 mg Tramadol. When I don't take it for a day I am very lethargic and ache. I try not to take it more than a few days in a row. The doctor is surprised at the side effects. Thank you to those who shared a similar experience. I had been wondering if this was my imagination. I have reads that a person who was on Tramadol for 8 or 10 years and as a result, had to take 8 of the 50 mg tablets of Tramadol daily to get results. His Dr. decided to give him a derivative of the drug for a few months to help irradiate the tolerance that had developed from taking the Tramadol for so long. After using the new drug for 6 months or a year. ( Cant remember the details. the article was a few years back) or a year, he switched back to the Tramadol and needed only 200 mg Daily. It is a precarious time for anybody who has been obtaining Tramadol over the internet. I've already read some of the other threads on here where a number of patients are suffering because they are unable to obtain a refill on their prescriptions. If you are unable to get your prescription filled then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND working with your doctor to taper down since the last thing which you want is to go through any major withdrawals! At the same time I DO NOT RECOMMEND switching to a narcotic pain killer such as Oxycodone since you will find the physiological dependence can be WORSE than Tramadol. I am a 20 year chronic pain sufferer who every 3 years or so has to detox off 180-240 mg Oxycodone to lower tolerance. Then I start back on 4-6 Percocet a day and gradually increase dosage as needed. Thank you ## I would not recommend it, not only should you not take more of anything than prescribed, if it isn't helping with what it is supposed to, then you should speak to your doctor, but this can also be very bad on your stomach. I have taken Tramadol, manufactured by Apotex, for the past nine months. Together, my neurostimlator and 200 mg. of Tramadol per day helped me to be virtually pain free! I renewed my Tramadol prescription last week and the new prescription says Tramadol, but this time the manufacturer is TEVA. This time, I continue to have pain and it is now the second week, and I am feeling intense pain. It is as if I was not taking any pain medication at all (my stimulator continues to work, but no one is ever promised that a neurostimulator will rid anyone of all pain. I have a friend who was switched to Tramadol from Apotex Manufacturing (the exact one I had for nine months) and is now taking Tramadol manufactured by TEVA. from everyone's experience, what is Tramadol's effectiveness as a pain killer ? ## Well, when I tried it several years ago, all it did was make me sick. It didn't do anything for my pain. There are some people who seem to have good results with it, but different meds work for different people. Anyone else who has used this medication, please post your experience with it. ## I use Tramadol for lower back pains from several auto accidents and it works really well for me. ## It does not work for me at my prescribed dosage. The max. recomended dosage is no more than 400 mg a day. Hearing lots of places that the people who order tramadol via internet will no longer be able to. My opinion is stay the hell away from this drug. I took it for less than a week for severe back pain. I experienced the following, all of which indicate a deadly allergic reaction and are supposed to be rare: -extreme swelling of the tongue to the point where my teeth were cutting into it; -trouble sleeping/night terrors; -constant itching at night that was affecting my sleep; -frequent feeling of having to urinate. The drug did barely anything for my pain and I had to up my dose within two days. That was when the side effects started. Again, not worth it. Please stay away. Pharmacists and doctors will insist that the drug is safe but it isn't. I've also personally talked to three people who have had seizures as a result of this drug.
