Can the m 2 pill be cut in half and taken? Is it a time release? Is this pill the smallest dosage usually prescribed? ## No, this is not a time released tablet, so it could be cut, if you wish, unless your doctor or pharmacist has specifically told you not to do so. And yes, this is the lowest dosage available in the tablets, it contains 2mgs of the Hydromorphone, which is the active ingredient in Dilaudid, this is actually a generic medication. It is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can I cut/ break this pill in half, or is it time release? I do not generally take painkillers but my sister gave me one since I am unable to move my neck. ## Cut it in half with a sharp knife. Youll get 2mg of Dilaudid. You would be much better off taking the whole pill. ## Would 4 mg be too strong? I used to take Vicodin and have a high tolerance to it. I have taken a small dose of roxy in the past and it was too potent for me. I didn't want to repeat it with this dilaudid. ## Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, it is a very potent narcotic, so if you aren't used to taking it, there can be a danger of overdose if you start off with 4mgs. You really shouldn't take it, at all, without a doctors approval. However no, this tablet is not time released, it is ...

Can't seem to find a pic to identify. Too many generic pills out there. Do you have a suggestion of how I can get the correct type of medication generic name? ## Hello, Denise! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. The imprints would be the only way to positively identify that tablets. Is there any chance that you could get someone else to look at them for you and post back with the markings? Do you still have the original bottles? I recently found a bottle of pills that says hydromorphon (without the e) 8mg and the bottle also says it is a replacement for dilaudid. The problem though is the pills are just round and white and say nothing on them. I would like to know if these are truly what the bottle is. ## Hello, Talos! How are you? There are no unmarked Hydromorphone tablets available in the U.S. So, they are most likely not what the label claims. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I got a script from the drugstore for 2mg dilaudid and when I open the bottle there were white ones in there but I saw some cotton in the bottle pulled it out and the rest of the pills were orange whats up with this? Are they ok to take? ## Hi, Wendy! It can be normal for this to happen if your pharmacy ran out of their supply of one and had to add some from a different manufacturer. However, I can't confirm this for you, without knowing the markings that are on the tablets. Learn more Dilaudid details here. Can you post back with this information? If so, I'll gladly check for you. Thanks! ## I have a pill that was supposed to be dilaudid, but it looks like it got wet or something. i found a small round white pill with a number 8 on one side and a line across the other side in my sisters bathroom. it is suppose to be a dilaudid. but i dont think it is, can anyone tell me if it is? ## No, I didn't find a listing for a Dilaudid tablet, or the generic equivalent Hydromorphone that has just an 8 on it. There are several with an 8 as part of the imprint, but there are also other letters, numbers and/or a logo. Learn more Dilaudid details here. How small is it? Would you say it's similar to an Aspirin tablet, or maybe smaller like a birth control pill? ## I've seen Dilaudid that come in 2mg, 4mg, or 8mg. On one side it has the #4 (for four mg) or like you said the number 8 for 8mg. They are very small, round with a beveled edge. There are numbers on the back...

I'm on percocet and diluadid after my 4th lumbar surgery. A family member forever asking for them. I knew how many I had before and after they left. Honestly I didn't see who took it so since they want to steal and leave me in pain I want to catch them and pay back. I ordered myself a locked pill container so can't happen again but really I want to fill my box I use with something OTC. My percocet is big yellow and round. I read that vivvan caffeine pull will work but only thing I know tiny small and white is birth control pill. I really wish exlax would look like it but anything otc I can use to catch him. But nothing harmful like a heart pill, just want to catch and stop them. Yes, looking into camera so can catch him red handed. I'm angry and hurt my own family would ...

What is the narcotic in dilaudid .. is it the same as oxy or hydrocodon ? Just more poteant ## Yes they are the same thing which is opiate based pain pills. some stronger than others, flyboy ## Hello, Flyboy! How are you? As listed by the FDA, Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, so yes, it is another opioid analgesic. To give a comparison on the strength from RPH, you only need .75 of Dilaudid to equal each 10mgs of Oxycodone, thus, it is much stronger. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. small round white pill, m on one side, 4 on the other side ## That would be Hydromorphone 5mgs. Hydromorphone ## Incidentially, regarding my recent inquiry about amount of dilaudid I am using, I have been on ppiates for over 20 years, stemming from a horrific auto accident in 1985; Talwin, ocycontin 80mg; Fentaynal; and Kadian; now dilaudid. All heavy doses so I believe I am very well tolerant to opiates ( basically an addict, I'm sorry to say!) ## I am a normal teenage mother and recently have been suspicious of my daughter using drugs. Let's face it, i've had my fair share of exploring when I was young, but rarely. I noticed her acting weird sometimes, but afraid to come out and ask. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. And no, MIchele! Have recently come across 12mg dilaudid a neighbor gets at a compound pharmacy ,though been unable to find any info at all on these. Help!? ## And you won't find any information on them. A compounding pharmacy creates the medications as specially ordered from someone's doctor. This may be done for several reasons, such as someone needing a combination of medications that isn't available on the market. Or as in this case, a dosage that isn't available in the standard prescription medications. That's also why they are in capsule form, the pharmacy orders empty capsules and then fills them with the dosage the doctor has ordered. Learn more Dilaudid details here. Thus, in this case, there are no special imprints to look up and there will be no details on it under that do...

Does anyone know how to tell if a Dilaudid is fake, specifically the 8mg ones that is triangular shaped with rounder corners, white, and 8 on one side and the to of the letter p on the other side, but the p are both going different directions. So one normal letter p and the other is upside letter p. The letter p's are separated by a straight line between them. I am trying to figure out how I can tell if I have a fake one or not. I do notice they are very shiny, but not sure if they normally look like that. ## Hello, Harley! How are you? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side ...

Hi, my brother has rectal cancer. They did the surgery and now he has a poop bag and is waiting for his chemo treatments. They say his white blood cells aren't producing enough to do the chemo. He is addicted to Dilaudid. Not sure of the mg., but he administers it at least 3-4 times a day. He knows he's addicted. He doesn't know that I know of his problem. My question is, "do Dilaudid's affect the white blood cells?" If so that would be why he's not getting better. ## Dilaudid, which contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone isn't usually known to affect one's immune response in such a manner. Ref: Dilaudid and Immune Response Study As to him using it 3 to 4 times a day, cancer can be very painful, so can the treatments, so pain relief is usually n...

Tell everyone who is using anything that they cannot prove came from a pharmacy. A dear friend of mine got very sick and almost died when he received an 8mg dilaudid looking tablet. It was fake. If you compare it to the real thing there are very subtle differences. The white tablet w/ LCI 1355 has slightly different letters and number 1 than the real one.The letters should look just like they do here. Not Roman style or more fancy lettering. Be careful people. Try to stop taking pain killers if you can.To many scammers are out there. It is your life people. ## Well said Bibi! In my opinion, if the medication isn't from a licensed pharmacy then the only way to safely verify it's contents is through a lab analysis. And even then, this may not pick up on the presence of certain ina...
