What Kind Of Drug Is A Percocet

Almost all Percocets except the ones that have A332 and I can't understand why? When I take that kind of Percocet I am so ill I want to jump out of my own skin but when I take the ones that say A332 I am fine. They do not make me mean and ill and I'm wondering why if they all have the same thing in them? I have had seven hip surgeries and Percocet seems to help some. What is a Vicodin? According to the NIH database, a tablet that is white with 44 over 157 on it contains 325mgs of Aspirin and is available over the counter. I'm a chronic pain patient due to Fibromyalgi/Chronic Fatigue and Degenerative back & hip disease, for 21 years I've tried all kinds of meds and only narcotics have ever helped.. I'm on Percocet 15 mg, 1 every 4-6 hours, for 6-7 yrs now. . (Long acting meds behave as short acting in my body, so can't take anything long acting...which prevents me from being able to use a breakthrough med). I was taking morophine sulfate 30 mg tabs for 3 years, but the pharmacies in florida don't want to fill this anymore, so I went through severe withdrawals for 3 months or so. I'm told i can get back on, but would rather not, so I am now on Percocet 10-325 and they just dont work as well. But my question is this, is it normal to sweat alot when taking them? I can hardly get dressed cause when I do I immediately get another hot flash as I call them. I am trying to find out what this medication is. As I found it's just laying in my drawer amongst the bottles that I have of other medications that I take. Hi, I am prescribed oxycodone HCL 10mg. This medicine helps a lot with my chronic pain but this time when I received my medicine it had this kind in my bottle; the ones with the np and 12 on it. When I take it, it has no affect on my pain. Can you tell me why? What do you recommend? ## I agree th np 12 oxycodone is not like the flat round ones. Multiple knee surgeries; bone spur on L heel secondary to limping on right leg for years; spondylolysthesis in back. Prescribed 1-2 Percocet(s) per night (5-325) to help sleep and Tramadol (50mgs, up to 4Xday). I'm taking 15mg of morphine and my doctor wants to give me percocet due to a recent diagnosis, so I'm kinda wondering if the medication I have now is better or is it about the same? ## Hi Shelly, According to nih.gov, Oxycodone (one of the main active ingredients in Percocet) is said to be approximately 1.5x stronger than Morphine. If this holds true and I did the math correctly, then 7.5mg of Oxycodone would be equal to about 11.25mg of Morphine (7.5 x 1.5 =11.25); and 10mg of Oxycodone would be equal to about 15mg of Morphine (10 x 1.5 =15). The addition of Acetaminophen in Percocet would probably top the 15mg of Morphine if you were prescribed the 10/325 dosage form. I hope this makes sense!? Okay maybe you guys can help me with this I got my wisdom teeth removed today and they prescribed me percocets but it does not say how many mgs they are my mom went in to fill the prescription and used an old prescription bottle to fill it to save her 1 dollar lol so it does not say on the bottle. I have been on narcotics for many years, trying to stay in control my pain. I take percocet 10/325 4 each day, if I switched to roxicet what dose would I need to manage my pain level. ## If you take 4 a day then you would probably get the 30 milligram and maybe also the 15's once a day because you take 4 percocets a day but I'm no doctor but know alot about how doctors do things with that kind of medication. ## Actually, Roxicet and Percocet are the same medication, they both contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, so there would be no change in dosage, when going from one them to other. Where you perhaps referring to Roxicodone, which only contains Oxycodone, without the Acetaminophen?
