Does Cymbalta help with hot flashes? ## Hi Rebekeh - cymbalta hasn't affected my hot flashes at all - still the same old night sweats & flashes durig the day. I am going off cymbalta & going back on zoloft which I was on for 4 yrs. as the cymbalta doen't feel like it is helping. ## Thank you. i'm just going on Cymbalta for depression but I was hoping it would help with these AWFUL sweats. ## Since this is an SSNRI antidepressant and doesn't contain any hormones, it will not help with these. ## SSRI's and SNRI's are known for CAUSING hot flashes especially when first beginning them. For most people that effect settles down after a period of time. But on the flip side of that - have also had friends whose docs prescribed AD's to help control the hot fla...

What do you think is the best over the counter medicine or vitamins that don't distroy your liver? Do you think seeing a Doctor & getting medicine? I was hoping to avoid medicine at all. I'm really not having a hard time. I would like to get a good night's sleep. It seems to get bad at night time. Thank you ## I am in perimenopause, and I take a low dose of Prozac/Fluoxetine to help with the symptoms. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight loss. I tried some over the counter products, such as multivitamins, black cohosh, resveratrol, and natural progesterone supplements derived from yams, but I never had any luck with them. So there are other options available that are safer for your liver, and d...

Hi, I am 46 years old and am having irregular periods. I had a light period for two weeks and a migraine for the same amount of time. I usually have migraines with my periods. I went to my doctor and she prescribed Primolut N tablets to be taken 3 times a day until my period stopped. I took them for 3 days and my period and migraine went away. Two days later I got a migraine and my period restarted the next day. Is this normal? I don't know what to do. ## Hello, Gayle! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're experiencing. If the doctor didn't find anything else wrong, then yes, it is most likely perimenopause. At this point in life, we may not ovulate every month, which means we don't produce as much Progesterone as usual and that can cause irregular bleedin...

Aside from the cessation of your periods, the NIH lists other symptoms as possibly including nausea, hot flushes, irritability, headaches, PMS-like symptoms, chills and dizziness. Have your periods been irregular, at all, over the past few years? Have you been more irritable? Crampy? Now my husband is ok!!! He wants to have a second baby.. But im scared of early menopause!!! Where am i now??

I started to break out a lot after my menopause on top of the extreme anxiety I had. It didn't clear up until I started to use natural skin care. Anything I used on the market for creams did not work and only seemed to make matters worse. Why did this happen? Is it common to experience severe acne at this age? Was it caused from the anxiety I was experiencing? ## With the anxiety comes nauseaness as well and duzzyness can thus be becausevof my hormonal change in my body as I'm post menopause and did not had a period for two years please help and what can I use to ease the symptoms its making me tired and I do not get enough sleep wake up at night then hot then cold is it all sign of post menopause

Iam 45 starting angeliq is it allowed for woman in this age. I have all the classic symptoms of menopause. ## Hi I'm 45 my dr just put me on angeliq to I think it's ok peri menopausal ## It is sometimes used in people of this age, though there are risks, according to the NIH, it increases the risk of certain types of cancers. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, insomnia, and spotting. I've been taking Fluoxetine to help with my symptoms, it has been shown to help in a low dosage and it does not cause the same risks as hormone replacement therapy. Has anyone else tried Fluoxetine/Prozac to help with perimenopause symptoms?

I use nur isterate since 2010. Lately I have some menopause simptoms. I am 43. What else can I use as contraception? Should I be without any contraceptive ## The U.S. FDA does not recommend hormonal contraceptives for anyone older than 40, due to the increased risk of some types of cancer. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. There are other contraceptives you can use, such as condoms, or spermicides. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've been on nur - isterate for 26 years. I am 46 years old and started spotting the last 4 years on and off. I would like to know if being in menopause or perimenopause will affect how the contraceptive works.

what are the doses of pause 500mg for blood coming with urine ## Have you consulted a doctor? Did they advise you to use it? If not, you really need to talk to a doctor first, to determine what's causing the blood in your urine, since that could be the sign of a serious health problem. ## Post hamoride surgery, dr advised to take 3 pause tabs every day for 5 days. I am 56 and I have been taking eostrogen hrt for 6 months. My dr prescribed privera 1/2 pil daily last week to induce bleeding. I am now housebound, cannot work and bleeding profusely with chronic period pain & nausea for the past week. She suggested taking 3x pils each day for 3 days & see what happens. Im worried this will increase the bleeding. I stopped taking it 48 hrs ago and the bleeding is worse. Does anyone know how long this can go on? I think night sweats were much easier to deal with and I'll go back to natural treatments. ## Hello, Victoria! How are you? How long had it been that you'd not had a period? I have pretty bad anxiety with menopause. The hormones are off the wall but no night sweats or any other symptoms. I am on Zoloft and now my OBGYN put me on the Combipatch. I am on it for 2 1/2 weeks and have been doing great and then I got an anxiety attack. Does anyone know why? ## Hi Irene, I use to get panick attacks really bad. My doctor told me it can be caused by anxiety or stress. He put me on Klonopin, which is a benzodiazepine. It's helped me really well. I was also told that regular exercise can help with anxiety and stress. ## P.S. If there's no improvement or it gets worse, speak to your doctor about it. ## Hello, Irene! How are you? My auntie just got bought a supplement called MX Menopause Factor for my mom. According to my auntie, it support for normal sleep patterns, balanced moods and for menopause symptoms. Just want to asked if anyone try to used it before or anyone aware about this health supplement? Is it good supplement? Thanks.. ## This an herbal supplement made by Maxalife and, just like any other such supplement on the market, it isn't actually tested and proven to help with anything. Most of the ingredients they list as under very scientific names, rather than their common monikers, which means its also very difficult to tell exactly what you're getting. Is anyone familiar with this product?

hello, I am away and rainout of Angeliq tablets. Silly me, but medical aid full of nonsense in giving another pack in advance, however thought a week off was not to serious. I have been off a week soon, and started bleeding after two days. A brown discharge then to red normal bleeding discharge. Is this normal. I have been on Angeliq for 6 years with supervision of my Gynae. I recently had a polyp removed and they are insisting that if another polyp re-occurs I should have the insertion of the Mirena ring which has less of the one hormone that causes polyps. I heard though that the Mirena has had major problems/side effects as do most tablets etc. Which is better? Any natural remedies as last resort.
