I also went for a cat scan and was injected with a dye prior to. The inj. site became inflamed and I am concerned. My doctor prescribed sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 mg TB for my Bronchitis for every 12 hours for a 10 day round. I have been on it for 6 days and was looking it up on the internet. I have copd and have developed bronchitis over the last week or so. I am allergic to penicillin. My doctor believes the bronchitis is bacterial and has prescribed a medication that the prescription insert says "May cause serious lung problems. Tell your doctor if you develop a cough, shortness of breath, or chest pain" all of which I have with copd and bronchitis. He also prescribed 5 days of prednisone and a pro air inhaler. What would be the best antibiotic given this information. On my priscription bottle it list the amount of pills in the bottle as 30. Under that it says DS 15.
