My husband was on misoline prescribed by the neurologist for is seizures mainly in the right hand took I for 5 months but we only realised now that the measles like rash was 1 of the side effects of that tablet and itching was very bad.Now the Doctor has prescribed toplep 25mg just wondering will this have the same side effect ## Hello, Shireen! How are you? There is a risk of side effects, including a rash, with almost all medications. The only thing your husband can do is try the one that's been prescribed and see how it effects him. If he does get a rash from it, as well, there are others he can try. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Hi I have been taking toplep on and off for a number of years. The one reason I stop taking it is because when I get hot from either sunbathing or at gym it makes me itch all over especially my arms and stomach. I have never heard anyone else complain about this. But I know it's the toplep as a week after I stop taking it the itchiness at gym totally goes away. I'm taking 100mg at night is that perhaps too high? I have never experienced any other side effects. Thanks T. ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? If you're taking this to prevent seizures, then you shouldn't be skipping doses. If you feel that the medication is making you itch, you need to consult your doctor as you may need to switch to a different medication. However, almost all medications will make you more sensit... ...

I've been prescribed a 2 week course for the treatment of migraines which consists of 25mg. It will then will be increased to 50 mg if found effective. So now I just started the 25mg course and find an issue that I am constantly hungry and wanting to eaet (which is strange since I thought a side effect would be loss of appetite), and I have a constant light migraine on one side. (Luckily not a severe one which incapacitates me for a few days at a time). And I am also feeling moody (like PMS symptoms), although it isn't that time of the month plus my skin is breaking out pretty badly. Could the Toplep be causing this reaction? ## Have you consulted your doctor? The symptoms you've reported aren't listed as common side effects, and as you noted yourself, loss of appetite i... ...

I cant stand the hideous side effects of any of the other bipolar drugs anymore .I take 450mg lithium now. Hoping topamax can work . ANYONE ON TOPAMAX? DRS DONT WANT TO USE IT. ## Topamax, which contains the active ingredient Topiramate, is an anticonvulsant. Some have used it to treat BiPolar disorder, but it is not approved for such uses, which is probably why most doctors do not want to prescribe it. It has some pretty serious side effects, too, include: nausea, headache, anorexia and memory prroblems.
