Wondering if MD has used an appropiate substitution or not. I also take a full dosing of NSAIDS. ## Which one was substituted for the other? I'm not quite understanding from the title of your post. And the most operative question is really....how is the change working for you? While there are some conversion standards, it is generally more important to individualize it and customize it to the patient and how they respond to a medication, plus their tolerance levels.

3 tablets at a time for five days or should the 3 tablets be taken separately one at 8 one at 2 and one in the evening. For upper respiratory infection ## Hello, Junie! How are you? If your doctor didn't provide any specific instructions, then it is up to you. Taking all 3 at once in the morning could help prevent the insomnia that this medication can cause, alternatively taking them separately can help minimize the severity of all the side effects. The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne and nervousness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was diagnosed with shingles and was prescribed with ACYCLOVIR 400 MG TABLETS and it says to take 2 tablets by mouth five times per day for 7 days.. But I don't understand? How many hours apart do I wait for each set of two tablets? ## I was just given the same med, but mine is 1 tab 5x day. My doctor said I didn't have to wake up at night for a dose, so I set this up: 6am,10am, 2pm, 6pm and the last one for the day @ 10pm. Hope this helps. ## My prescription for CARB/LEVO 25 - 100 mg reads: Take 1 and 1/2 tablets by mouth 5 times a day. The first pill would be at 8:00 AM. When would the times be for pills 2, 3, 4 and 5 - if bedtime is involved, which would be at 22:30 / 10:30 PM? Thank you for your assistance.

Slipped and fell down five steps... injured neck, shoulders, back and lower back. Chiropractor (4 times so far = massage manual & electronic, light manipulation); Physical Therapy (1 time so far = vibrate massage and stretches); all preceded by MD exam (and x-rays to eliminate fractures) and prescription of Hydrocodone 5 325 (126). PT asks that I take neoproxin sodium (Aleve) regularly to build anti-inflammatory properties for next few weeks. Also suggests Flexerall at night for aiding rest. PT confident most pain, including lower left spasms (very painful, debilitating) will be alleviated and eliminated. Are we headed in right direction? ## Hello, Philip! How are you? Sixty five and just got the mandatory Medicare but also have a PPO since March. My previous plan, an HMO would only provide me with 40 Vicodin a month for my daily back pain which includes scoliosis, spurs, two very degenerated discs, annular tear, sciatica and some other issues if can't even remember. I've had the epidural several times with minor relief, PT, neurontin, tramadol (does zip). After the big conspiracy by the FDA was enacted in Nov, I was cut off with no referral. I know that some people abuse their pain meds, but 40 a month? Come on. They even cut my friend off that has severe MS all because of this FDA thing. I was still hurting rationing 40 pills a month. My primary told me that Americans are too dependent on pain meds. She said that in her country of Paraguay p...

CAN YOU BUY ANYTHING OVER THE COUNTER THAT YOU CAN TAKE..THAT IS MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED MILS? SEEMS THAT JUST DOESNT WORK FOR US..AND MOST THINGS SAY..ONLY TAKE ONE PER DAY? ## Hi, Dewsieq! Sorry about the problem that you and your husband are having. Have you tried any of the OTC medications to see if they help at their available dosages? Not every medication requires 500mgs to help with pain and you may find that something in a lower dose, such as Naproxen (Aleve) may help quite a bit. Learn more Aleve details here. Please help. My doctor had me on percoset 10/325 4 times a day. That was for over a year. Well I found out I was pregnant and the doctors promised me it was ok for me to take them. Well I started not taking as many cause I wanted to stop for my baby. I started getting sick and at first had no clue why. The doctor told me I was going thru withdrawel and I couldn't stop taking the meds while I was pregnant cause it could hurt me and the baby. Long story short they recommended me start methadone while I was pregnant. Well my baby was five weeks early they said more than likely it had nothing to do with the methadone. He was fine at first. He weighed 5 pds 6 oz. After a few days the nurses said he started showing signs of withdrawal. They started him on methadone. He was in that hospita...

I have been on depo for the first time and it expired on the 22nd june that is eight days back but I have been getting large blood clots, heavy flow of periods, been on primolut n for five days three times a day and when I stopped my periods came back.i have used microgyno too but nothing. I am now using sylate but my flow has increased I am really worried as me n my husband are trying to have a baby. please help.

This script looks different than what I have been given for years. What exactly is it saying? I had to get a new Doctor and i asked how to read this and he ignored my question. I'm afraid to fill it. ## What is it a prescription for? I am not sure what the sy might be, however, the 150 is the number of tablets in total, taken 5 times a day, so it would be a 30 day supply. There is no need to be afraid to get it filled, if there is something on it that your pharmacist can't understand, they will contact the doctor to ask.

This is an antibiotic good for getting rid of mucus, leading to a chronic cough. It has been successful several times for me and saved me a doctor's vi$it. Take two the first day and one each day following for five days. ## Thank you for your post, I really hope it's beneficial to someone. There is one important thing to remember though, as an antibiotic, Cephalexin is not effective at treating the viruses that cause most common colds that may cause such mucous to be a problem. It will also not treat allergies, which could be another reason for one to be full of mucous. Learn more Cefalexina details here. As an antibiotic, it is only effective against bacterial infections and improper use of it may lead to the development of antibiotic resistant bacteria. Thus, one does have to ...

I read the prescription directions wrong. I'm taking nitrofurantoin for a UTI in pregnancy. The directions say every 12 hours for 7 days. I quickly looked at the bottle and thought it said every 7 hours. I have five pills left, so now about 2 and a half days left now that I know the actual timespan. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and now beginning to worry. Am I okay? ## Hello, Momma! How are you? Congrats on the baby! It would be best to return to your doctor to inform them of what happened. While overdose of an antibiotic isn't usually life-threatening, there may be issues they need to watch for with the baby and they may also need to prescribe more antibiotics, so you can do a full course of treatment. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness,...

There are two of us males, early thirties. One of us underwent major back surgery three years ago and has been addicted to pain medication for a total of five years. I have been addicted for about three years just from simply being his main caretaker and dipping into the cookie jar a few to many times like an idiot. We went back to our general doctor (same guy) and explained that we are both full fledged addicts. We told him we have been obtaining Methadone off the street as is seems to be the only thing that works. He asked us what we where getting off the street and we told him Methadone. His response was, "Well that's the smartest thing you have done so far, because of its extremely long effect on the body". We told him we need his help, that we just have no money left an...

Hi I suffered a complete L1/L2 Spinal Cord Injury a few years ago and due to the nerve damage I now suffer ongoing chronic pain in my lower groin and acute pain in my legs. I currently take 10mg Oxycodone five times a day with 10mg Methadone once a day for the pain and it has worked very well for me since the accident. I started on just 10mg Oxycodone four times a day with no Methadone and over nearly 5 years it has build up to what I'm now on. Me and my pain Dr always agreed to rotate my pain meds before any one does got too high, so we are now replacing the Oxycodone. I tried Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) for one day and it did very little for my pain apart from making me tired,so I have returned to the Oxycodone. My question to anyone who can help is what do you think is a good replac...

Hi. I suffered a L1/L2 complete SCI injury some 4 years ago. After 6-7 weeks when the spinal shock wore off I noticed I had a burning pain in my lower groin area even though I can't really feel much below my hips, we thought maybe it was a UTI but all showed negative. It was diagnosed as chronic nerve pain and it never goes away, I get acute nerve pains in my legs on top of this chronic pain. I have been taking 10mg Oxycodone four to five times per day and methadone 10mg once a day for the chronic pain + 800mg Gabapentin three times a day for the burning in my legs. The only way I have been able to keep my doses so low over the years is by being very hard on myself as to when to take the pain meds but as hard as I have tried I'm now going up to around 60mg total Oxycodone per da...
