A friend of mine took the plan b pill and has not had her period in 2 months. She has had headaches, been vomiting and feeling very hyped up and sensitive. She keeps saying she needs to have her period to release all this tension. She has been very stressed out over it. She had blood work done and it showed a low white blood cell count. Can the plan b pill and the side affects cause her to have a low white blood cell count? ## No, that is not a normal side effect. The FDA lists its typical ones as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and irregular bleeding. Whether or not she gets her period, it will most likely not change these issues. I just started taking Gabapentin a month ago and my white blood cell count is high, but never has been. Can this be why? Will I need to postpone any surgeries because of this? ## Yes, the FDA does list that as being a known side effect of Gabapentin, along with nausea, dehydration, somnolence, mood changes, and weight changes. As to whether or not you can have surgery that will depend on the opinion of the surgeon, and whether or not they actually detect a real infection, or if it seems that this has just been caused solely by the medication. My doctor prescribed this, and I know I already have a low wbc count. Should I be concerned? Should I not take it as this is a potential side effect which would compound my pre-existing condition? ## Did you talk to your doctor about it? You should discuss it with them, anytime you are concerned about such an issue. What did your doctor prescribe it for?

Recently admitted to the hospital severe migraine, history long-standing migraines, past presurgical Blood work shoe same as current complete blood count with elevations of WBCs, RBCs, neutrophils, hemoglobin have chased multiple conditions down all kind of crisscross with one thing or another thought I had it down to PLCYTHEMIA secondary.. Any ideas I have been in the hospital five days supposed to be released today I don't want to come back just to have them poking prodding and come up with nothing once again I am status post lumbar and cervical surgery 90 days I weigh 178 pounds but you still considered obese at five for sure could use some advice

i am using rex xr 500 mg twice a day one in morning and one in evening since 2010.besides i am also diabetic and taking gluconorm g1 and remister 2.5 my wbc and plt count is decreased to 2.5 and 54 respectively.what could be the exact reason and what are the remedies

Just started triple tx on nov 5, 2012. Two weeks test shows platelet count dropped from 149 to 109. Doc said we'll watch it . Is this normal? ## I started the triple therapy on 9/21/12 and my platelets were low even before I started (140). I am week 10 and my platelet count is 53. I have had a slight throat ache and nasal congestion with a fever of about 99.3. My doctor gave me ceftum 500 for 5 days. After 5 days fever still is coming up to 99.3 and becomes normal if I take a crocin. My wbc count is 11600 with nuetrophiles at 63%. is this some kind of viral infection as the antibiotic does not seem to help
