My Son is now 4and half yrs old. He had Convergence when he was one yr old and second time when he was 2 and half yrs old in which he has fever of more than 103 degree and his eyes were wide and teeth and body was still. Doctors asked us to go for EEG which was abnormal and since he is 2 and half he is being taking Valparin 200 which is recommended by the doctors and he has to take for sometime more may be till he is 5 yrs old. does valparin chrono results in increase in s.sgpt(alt) or any liver related issues? ## It is a medication that is entirely processed through the liver and the warnings state that it should not be used by anyone with hepatic disease or problems with liver function, though they are not specific as to why. I did, however, find several other people in various resources that have state they experienced elevated liver enzymes while using it. My cousin who is 5 yrs old has a problem in communication though there is no defect in the ears.Instead of replying to the question posted by others the child utters the same question to them. Recently he has been diagonsed and reported that he has epilepsy in brain. Now he is advised to take Valparin 200 syrup every night of about 2.5 ml. This medicine is given for controlling the epilepsy in the brain and as a result of this the hyperactivity comes down. My son who is 3 and a half yrs old now, is on valparin 200 since he was 6months old, due to seizures which started occuring when he was 6 months.Topamax 25mg was added to valparin200 bcos seizures continued to occur inspite of the valparin200 therapy. Now the condition is that he is showing great signs of recovery and understands almost everything. But the problem is that he is unable to speak properly, also he doesn't have a proper bowel control. He also has the problem of non coordination of his body parts and is unable to run. There is also a problem of excessive saliva, constipation and frequent viral infections with him. my son was diagnosed with seizure disorder and is in medication. He is taking Valparin 200ml almost 10 ml per day since 4 years. Shall I stop it by now or need to continue for some more month. I am worried about the relapse case which I have also found happened to other. Please suggest.

My son was suffering from fever. When he was playing suddenly his eyes were wide open for 4-5 minutues & his temperature was 102.5. My son is now 11 years old. When he was at 1.5 years old epilepsy attack (6 times) till his 8 years. Doctor advised to take Valparin 200, but some doctors advised us not to take valparin continuously that will affect any side effect on eyes.
