For the past year I have been suffering from intense vaginal itching. I have tried monistat and other medications, but nothing is helping. Hello! I was prescribed Nitrofurantoin for a UTI and I’m on my third day of taking it. My UTI symptoms seem to be gone however I’ve developed some pretty instense vaginal itching. Is the itching related to the antibiotic or did I get super lucky and develop a yeast infection or something? No discharge or rash just itching. If the itching IS a side effect of the antibiotic should I call my doctor to discontinue it or is it not a huge deal as long as I can handle it? My vagina has been itching me so badly and i have also been discharging. I think it's an infection. How do i treat it? ## Is the discharge whitish? Does it look like cottage cheese? If so, you may have a vaginal yeast infection and you will need an antifungal medication to treat it. Have you consulted your doctor? It would be best to have it checked out to be sure what is causing your problem, so you can get the best and safest remedy. I'm nearly 5 years in from my breast cancer diagnosis... I was 34 I'm now 39 and at the end of October it will be 5 years clear! This is a topical steroid cream, it is not normally meant to be used internally, such as placing into the vagina. Hello I was prescribed augmentin for an ear infection and im almost done with them but recently within the last few days ive noticed my vaginal area is super itchy. Its driving me nuts but I dont have much discharge (if any besides my usual) so I dont think its a yeast infection. The tablet is like capsule and do not know where to keep the tablet in vagina exactly ## Susten is a form of Progesterone, which is a hormone that's vital to the normal female menstrual cycle and the ability to get pregnant and carry a baby to term. You should just place it as far up as possible, so it rests against, or near the cervix and leave it there. Are there any other comments or questions? ## I am 13 weeks pregnant and my doctor told to use susten 200 two times daily vaginally, but after sometimes if I walk and seat I feel some warm water discharge so is that ok. No, you should not use anything on your vaginal area that has not been specifically made for that type of use, doing so could make things even worse, according to the NIH. As to the urinary tract disease, do you mean you had a urinary tract infection? Did you have to take an antibiotic to treat it? If so, then you may have developed a yeast infection, it can be a side effect of some antibiotics according to the FDA, which could explain the vaginal itching, and if that is what has happened, you'll need to take an antifungal medication to treat it. What should I do if my bleeding made my clindesse cream come out? ## It is normal for some of it to be expelled, however, that does not mean that your body has not used the actual medication it contains, which is the antibiotic Clindymycin.
