I have used tramodol 100mg er tablets for 6 months for aid in limting pain in my right hip after a fall. I was taking 2 in the AM and 1 in the evening. All went good until I recently started being unable to sleep all night. The doctor did not want to raise my dose and prescribed hydocodone/ace 5-500 and I still cannot sleep after a few hours. Should the dose of 2 tramodol be administered at night and the dose of 1 be used in AM. I do NOT have pain during the day other than very minor. ## From what I could gather, the plasma half-life of tramadol following a single or multiple dosing is 6 to 7 hours. That means it has the ability to provide more consistent pain relief over that time span, before it starts leaving your system. I would certainly consider doing as you suggested, taking the ...

I have been taking tramacet, but it is out of stock in south africa currently, so i have been given tramadol 50mg, does it work the same will i get withdrawals. ## Hi, Helen! How are you? Tramacet contains Tramadol and Acetaminophen, so they've just given you the one without the Acetaminophen, thus there shouldn't be a problem. Learn more Tramacet details here. You may want to ask your doctor or pharmacist about just adding some Acetaminophen on your own, by taking a Tylenol tablet with it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I believe there is an error. I have checked on the list of medications as I have been taking Tramacet for some time., Tramacet is commonly available in Canada and South Africa. It is a combination of opioid pain reliever with Paracetamol, not Acetami...

My brother passed away two years ago from a Tramadol overdose. He had a 15mg of Tramadol per ltr. of blood. He weighed about 205 lbs and was about 6 feet tall. Is there any way to determine how many Ultram ER 100 pills he would have had to take to reach this level? A guess or estimate of a range would be helpful. ## Hi Bob I am very sorry to hear about your brother. The average human body contains between 5 and 6 liters of blood, so if we assume that your brother had 5.5 liters of blood in his body then that would equal out to approx 82.5mg of Tramadol. That actually does not sound outside the normal range based on a 100mg extended release dosage. Are you sure it was 15mg per liter? I also hope that I did not make a mistake with my calculations. Could it also be that he had a bad reacti...

I have a reoccurring knee injury and was prescribed Tramadol which gave me an allergic reaction, the hospital prescribed me steroids, Pepcid and Benadryl to counter act the rash. The rash ran the entire length of both my arms from finger tips to armpits, after taking the prescribed medicine the rash has gone away but now I'm peeling badly and it hurts, is this normal? If not what can I do because the peeling is spreading all over my body. ## Hello, Safari! How are you? Has there been any change? If not, or if it has worsened, you may be having a dangerous reaction to the medication and should seek emergency medical attention at your nearest ER. Peeling skin may be a sign of Stevens-Johnson syndrome, according to the NIH and it has the potential to be fatal, if left untreated.

I took one Contrave and my regular dosage of Tramadol and wound up in the ER with such horrific withdrawals I wanted to pass out. My question is, how long after taking one Contrave before I can resume my regular Tramadol dosage? ## It can block opiates from working for you for about 3 days, or so. Was the prescribing doctor aware that you'd be taking both? Usually, according to FDA warnings, it is not safe to take a medication such as Contrave, until you are in full withdrawal from all opiate medications, or it creates the risk of your going into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. One of the ingredients in Contrave neutralizes opiates, it is often used to treat opiate overdoses, or prevent someone from abusing opiates, while being treated for addiction.

I live in Memphis and am suffering from chronic pain from c1 and c2 in my neck and the trap area in my shoulder. My collarbone often feels like it is broken. I have dealt with this pain on a chronic and severe level since 2007. I have had no insurance for most of my adult life but my husband was recently accepted as a senior scientist at St Jude Children's Research Hospital.the pain recently got so bad that I had to go to the emergency room even without insurance they gave me dilaudid to relieve the pain as well zofran which helps relieve nausea. I left the ER with a prescription of tramadol immediately made all pain go away. Unfortunately I was only given a very limited quantity and was hoping that I could make a visit to my regular doctor so that I could get a refill she looked at...

If it's for pain, can 2 tabs be taken? ## Can 2 tablets be taken of Tramad/apap? Thank you ## I would not recommend it, not only should you not take more of anything than prescribed, if it isn't helping with what it is supposed to, then you should speak to your doctor, but this can also be very bad on your stomach. APAP is just pharmaceutical speak for Acetaminophen and taking too much of that in a day can be fatal. ## What are the side effects? ## I was prescribed Eramd/APAP for headaches by my Neurologist. A few days later I broke out with Erythema muliform rash. It started on my arms and due to intense itching and my scracthing spread all over my body. I was unable to eat, sleep or do anything. Finally after 4 days seen another MD who told me to stop the medication because I ...

It a white oval pill no imprint 100mgs 100 pills in the bottle. ## Hi I just got a bottle of tramadol 100 mg Mexican brand capsules I want to know what's the difference between the pill and the capsule of the same mediction and dose I've always got the pills but this time I got capsules is one IR, and one ER? It doesn't say ## @Lety, Without a lab analysis there's really no honest way to identify something that doesn't carry an imprint. For that reason alone I can't provide you with a picture of a white oval pill and even remotely suggest that it could be tramadol. Secondly, if your tramadol pill and prescription bottle are not properly labeled, then that tells me they are counterfeit (and could literally contain anything from A to Z). Going through a doctor and ...

I have fibromyalgia. Has anyone ever taken tramadol when they were on gabapentin, zoloft, and lorazepam? ## Hi, Yellowrose. The only thing with the meds you listed is taking the tramadol with Zoloft as they both work on the serotonin receptors and they may cause a serotonin reaction....or toxicity. I can't remember the exact name for it.....my brain froze on that one.....look it up though. The side effects of this include confusion, anxiety and some other aspects of this combo in which you should visit your ER if any of the side effects appear....especially the confusion. They will need to stop your medications and give you other meds to combat the reaction. You would probably need to spend the night in the hospital for them to do this so you are safe. I took tramadol 50mg, 6/day an...

My hemorrhoids are swollen bad and I went to the er for the pain and they prescribed me some tramadol 50mg will that help ease the pain ## Hello, Jaymoe! How are you? Yes, it may help. The FDA classifies Tramadol as a mild opioid, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, if your hemorrhoids are that bad, you need to follow up with your doctor, as you may require surgery. Is there anything else I can help with?

As you know from the topic I am addicted to tramadol er 100mg twice a day. I want to come out from addiction. I tried so many times but failed due to pain I also can't sleep at all please help me. Please let me know other medicines for the replacement of tramadol. Thank you ## Tramadol is a mild opioid, so anything equivalent that you could try to replace it with would also carry the risk of being habit forming. Have you sought medical help for this issue? Usually, a slow taper is needed to help prevent the worst of the withdrawal symptoms, which may include nausea, fever, chills, diarrhea, depression, insomnia and rebound pain. ## Tramadol is not mild in any form or fashion. Dosed out on 50 mg is huge, make no mistakes. You can see this because doctors say nothing regarding its dow...

I'm on tramadlo for back paine/pressure and just found out the hard way that my tooths infected so I took 2 amox TR-k CLV 875-125 to hopefully help with paine n get rid of the PAINE ## Hi, Matty! I didn't find any interactions listed between these medications, but you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. However, The Amox TR K CLV will not relieve pain, that is an antibiotic that can help eradicate a bacterial infection, but that is all they will do. Learn more Augmentin details here. And you should see your dentist, because if these are leftover tablets from treating another infection, you may not have e...

Will tramadol help with arthritis? My mother in law has severe pain due to arthritis and we are looking for any suggestions that would help with the pain. Thank you in advance. ## Hi Diara, Sorry to hear about your mother in law. Theoretically speaking, it should help, as Tramadol is regarded as a moderate to severe pain reliever. Whether or not it "will" help is another story. Depending upon your mother in law's tolerance to pain medication, overall severity of pain and other personal factors that play a role, finding the right dosage or treatment option may come down to trial and error, while of course working closely with the prescribing doctor. Has she experimented with any natural alternatives for pain relief?

It is 12:55 a.m. in U.S. I'm still awake. This is my second go round with quitting Tramadol. The first was back in May of 2014. I went to a detox facility for 5 days from a 15-20 a day habit. Had taken it for 7-8 yrs but 2012-2014 had slowly upped dosage. Was getting off internet last two yrs. 130$ twice a month or 3x a mnth. I couldn't take it anymore an had gotten sick with heart palpitations an skipped heart beat so went to ER an had to embarrassingly admitt to it. Two days later in detox. Came out ok. Was put on Zoloft two wks later. Then 2 1/2 mnghs later Zoloft was makin me to sick. Lost to much wt, liver enzymes went up to 50's. So had to stop. Then in Nov of 2014 found out I had started menopause couple months earlier. Had developed depression an anxiety. So had to s...

I am out of my hydrocodone... Can I take tramadol temporarily until I get my prescription? I'm used to taking 10-325s. These tramadol are 37.5-325. How do I take this? Please help! In chronic pain. ## Tramadol is a serotonin drug. My Hubby takes 1 tab every 6 hours. But they are 50 mg tabs. I would NOT go over the one every six hours. But if you taken another drug that has anything to do with serotonin receptors are involved. I wouldn't take. You would be in far more trouble with serotonin poision then your chronic pain. Call your pharmacy if you don't want to call your doctors office. Or just pick a random pharmacy. Better to call and ask them end up in the ER. Please be safe. Call first. I'm not a doctor or in the medical field. Just another person with chronic pain. #...

I have been prescribed tramadol 50 mg and hydrocodone 5-325 for migraines. Tramadol is always my first go to and if that doesn't work then I try the hydro. However, the tramadol is expired and has been for a year (I am in college and dealt with moving etc so don't have a doctor at the moment to get a new prescription that is unexpired.) I am literally having one of the worst migraines of my life which its so bad that the pain woke me up even after taking an (expired) tramadol. I took the expired tramadol at 10pm and it is now 2 am. Would it be okay for me to now take a hydrocodone after 4 hours (usually I wait 6 but I believe the tramadol did not work because it's expired?) Normally I would just go to the ER when it is this bad however I am taking summer courses and have an ...

I am on 5-325 hydrocodone. I took my last of the script around 7:30 this evening. I have an old script of 100mg, extended release, tramadol and figured I would take one in the am., since my hydrocodone script can't be filled til the day after tomorrow. Am I safe to take one around 8:00 am., tomorrow morning? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu - drug interaction tool), there is a high interaction potential between hydrocodone and tramadol. However they do go on to note that because the two drugs may be necessary in certain cases, your doctor may have to adjust the dosage and/or frequency of dosing in order to help mitigate any possible risk factors/side effects (such as: Loss of balance or dizziness, slurred speech, confusion, changes in mental awarene...

What are the effects of going off this drug (i.e. diarrhea, sweating/chills)? ## Ralivia ER contains a time released formulation of Tramadol and yes, it you have been taking it for a long time, it can cause some withdrawal effects, if you suddenly stop, just like any other medication would. How much have you been taking and for how long? It may be best to discuss it with your doctor and do a slow taper, to prevent the worst of the withdrawals.

Does anyone know if this medication (Tramadol/Ultram) is a controlled substance? ## i live in the uk and have been on tramadol for about 6-7 years now and it is over here ## no, it is not a controled sub. it is non narcotic, genric for ultram. it intercepts neurotransmitter in your brain (serotonin) to control pain ## if tramadol is not a controlled substance why do they ask for ID at the pharmacy? ## I dont care what they say. Tramadol is an addictive narcotic. It's not as hard to kick as the others but a narcotic just the same. ## Iv been told Tramadol is a watered down version of stronger narcotics. In fact I feel like Iv been lied to. Im a recovering drug addict. I learned I had liver cancer in the ER. They gave me this and said it wont triger a relaps. Like hell it wont. Im eve...
