Levothyroxine is a naturally occurring hormone in the body, so in these doses that usually just replace what your body is missing, it hasn't been known to cause harm to the baby. My wife is taking Thyroxin Sodium 100 mg for thyroid manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline India. Now I am in Canada and was taking the same with the consultation of the Doctor. Now the test is done and the thyroid is low. Now the doctor recommended Synthroid 75 mcg. My question is that whether I can take Throxin sodium instead of synthroid. ## Hi Subhash, Based on my research, Synthroid contains Levothyroxine; which is a synthetic version of the thyroid hormone thyroxine. Thyroxine is the natural hormone that is secreted by the thyroid gland. I can understand why you prefer the Thyroxine since it's not synthetic, but if your doctor suggested that you take the Synthroid (75 mcg) I'm sure he/she's just trying to do what's in your best interest. Nonetheless, if you like how the ...

I have been taking 25mcg of levothyroxine for about a year and a half when I had to switch to escripts. I received my prescription in the mail and the tablets were now oval and scored and manufactured by SANDOZ. Two weeks into this new script and I started having odd sensations in my chest and my hands would be stone cold. At work I hooked myself up to telemetry and saw that I was throwing PVCs three at a time. Heart rate was 69 and no other issues except a weird feeling I cannot describe accurately. It was the third time that happened while on the new script. I printed out a strip to take to my Dr and had an EKG done with no problems noted (of course I wasn't experiencing any symptoms at the time of the EKG). Anything like this happen to anyone here? ## Hello, Kini! How are you? Yo...

I was told this is Armour. Looks like its totally not. I ordered it from India but it says thyroxine sodium tablets. Paid 140 bucks for it to. Which from what I'm reading its totally not Armour. Correct? ## You are correct. Armour actually contains desiccated thyroid gland from pigs. You can learn more Armour details here. Unfortunately, that's one of the hazards from ordering in such a manner, there's really no way of knowing what you may receive. Have you tried contacting the place you ordered from?

Thyroxine gives me debilitating headaches. Armour Thyroid seems to do nothing. Tyrosine and iodine also give me headaches and make me perspire and feel weak. Anyone got any advice? I suffer from hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia ## Levothyroxine is a thyroid hormone used to treat people whose thyroids are underactive. That said, headaches can be a common side effect, though they normally taper off as your body adjusts to the medication. Did yours continue past a month or so? Have you tried talking to your doctor to see if there is a solution, perhaps something you can use for the headaches or to prevent them? ## I have had migraines with Levothyroxine so came off tablets but went on the liquid Iml syringe at a time and increase every three days; this seems to be working. Hope this helps! ...

is there a difference between levothyroxine tablets & thyroxine tablets? ## Hi Rose, From what I could gather, Levothyroxine (also known as L-thyroxine or T4), is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone "thyroxine", which is normally secreted by the follicular cells of the thyroid gland. So to answer your question, they are the same exact medication. However if they were manufactured by different companies, it's likely that each tablet contains a different set of inactive ingredients (otherwise known as binders/fillers). To my understanding, the different variations of these inactive ingredients, have a significant impact on the overall efficacy of certain medications. Do you happen to have any experience or feedback on either of these brands? You can learn more about th...

I was prescribed 50mg tablets of thyroxine to replace the 2x 25mg tablets I had been on. Stupidly I forgot and for 10 days have been taking 2x 50mg tablets. I realised this morning and haven't taken any today. Will this double dose cause any problems? Aside from my general health, I am undertaking ivf this week and I'm worried that this double dose will cause problems. Can anyone shed any light and put my mind at ease?

Thyroxine or Thyronorm 137.50 Mcg tablets are not available in the market in India. Is any other tablet of 137.50 Mcg availabe? In absence of the requiered tablet what is the way to consume the dose of 137.50 using the available tablets of 25,50,100 mcg power? ## Why thyronorm is better than thyroxine tablets? ## My tsh level is 17.2., suffering from mild liver swelling, laziness and a mild headache.
