Being diabetic, I am taking pioz 15 & glizide M daily after meals but sugar level remains 160. Pl. suggest may I continue or consult our doctor. Pl. also inform whether 160 is normal blood sugar level after meals. ## It is normal for there to be some elevation after meals, but there are also some other relevant things that should be taken under consideration. The first is, you said you are taking them after you meal, this means that if you are checking your blood sugar level right after you finish eating, the medication hasn't even had a chance to start working, yet. Ideally, these medications should be taken just before a meal, ...

My mother takes 1 tablet Norsulin 500mg Metformin with 2.5 mg of Glipzide daily 15 minutes before breakfast and half-tablet before lunch. This was prescribed by her doctor. She says that after taking the tablet she feels not only dizzy and drowsy but also very weak. Are these normal and usual side-effects of the drug? Or does this mean her sugar level plummets everytime she takes the talet? Thanks. ## The dizziness and drowsiness can be normal side effects, but the weakness may mean that her blood sugar is dropping too low. What are her sugar readings at these times? Has she contacted her doctor, yet?
