Please let me know of any other alternatives other than Thiola. Always on backorder. Thanks. ## Sorry, I am not sure what would be a direct replacement. The monograph does say it is a very rare substance, so I would recommend speaking to your doctor or a pharmacist, they will have a better idea of what can be used instead that would help you.

I was told from a friend that her son has a problem with gallstones and the outcome is he has constant diarrhea and his Dr said no need to do anything unless it becomes problematic. Is this true because l live on kaopectate and sometimes have pain below in my stomach. Can someone help me? I have it EVERYDAY and l am a diabetic. Please help me someone. ## What medication do you take to control your diabetes? The FDA does warn that most of them may cause nausea, dizziness, headache, gas, and diarrhea as side effects. Thus, your problem might not be the same as what her son is experiencing.

Yes, kidney stones can be a risk of taking Topamax, as listed by the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. Have you consulted your doctor? Some say my Kidney Stone is too big to pass and some say I can. My Kidney Stone is 1.1cm and they put me on Flomax. This is my first one and I heard it's very painful. Can I pass this and will it help to drink lemon juice ?? ## Hi Sherry - sorry to hear about your kidney stone, that does not sound like fun at all :( I can't say whether you will be able to pass it and I'd have to defer to what your primary doctor thinks since they know your medical history. With that said, I think you must have been prescribed Flomax to help with your urination. Lemon juice is anecdotally reported to help prevent kidney stones from forming and enlarging because of the citrate in it - but I don't know if it will help to actually shrink your existing kidney stone. If you are being told it...

I have stone in unirary bladder of 0.5mm how many days it will take to come out.and it will comes wheather it will dislove wid urine or comes out as it is. ## I'm sorry, but there is no way that anyone can tell you that. Has it passed, yet? It can vary from person to person. Typically, they break up upon passing into the bladder, according to the NIH, but not all of them do and not all of them pass without medical intervention. So far, I've experienced 2 of them, both of which broke up and passed with little to no visible traces. If I'd not had a CT scan due to the symptoms I was experiencing, I'd not have known it was a stone. The first one was the largest and the most I saw, upon passing urine was some tiny bits of sand like sediment, then the symptoms disappeared, it ...

My nephew has a brain injury and doesn't communicate at all. He has a feeding tube and uses Jevity for nutrition. He continues having trouble with kidney stones. He can't tell us but we know he is suffering. When is passes them you see them in his urine bag. Is there anyone that knows if it causes kidney stones? ## Hello, Laurie! How is your nephew doing? It depends on what type they are. If they are calcium based, then yes, the Jevity might be contributing to them. However, they could also be unrelated and caused by something else. Is he on any medications regularly? Have the stones ever been analyzed by a lab to see what type they are? Has he been dehydrated, at all? ## He does not take any medication. Every now and then he gets a Lunesta to help calm him down when he seems ag...

I have a gall bladder stone the size of 0.9cm. I am not having any pain or symptoms. My prostate was enlarged, for that I did the ultrasound. Do I need to go for an operation to remove the stones or i can take anything to get rid of it..? Is it dangerous? ## Hello, Kukku! How are you? As reported by the NIH, that is a bit large to be able to pass on its own, so it may require special treatment to help it pass, such as the surgery. And yes, they can be dangerous, because they can block the kidneys, which may cause a back up of toxins that could potentially result in kidney failure. I ask this because I have taken estratest for years and I was recently diagnosed with gallstones which happens to be a side effect with estratest. I was just tying to see if anyone else developed gallbladder problems after years taking estratest. Thanks. ## Yes, the FDA does list increased risk of gallbladder issues among it's possible side effects, along with nausea, headache, tender breasts, and menstruation changes. Has anyone else experienced such issues? ## Hi, I was on Estratest for about 14 yrs. I do not know if the Estratest had anything to do with this, but during a CT scan they found a gall stone. Will Puresis (Furosemide) help pass kidney stones? ## Not really, it is a diuretic that is used to help remove fluid from the body, according to the U.S. FDA. Since you already feel a frequent urge to urinate, when you have a kidney stone, it could just make you feel more miserable than you already are. The best thing to do is to take in plenty of fluids, such as water, or juices, and see your doctor it the stone doesn't pass soon. Are you on any medications?
