Iv took pain for years.now i want quit how long does the side effects last? ## Hello, Dave! How are you? Tapering off of them, rather than stopping cold turkey would best and should help to minimize the withdrawal symptoms. Have you consulted your doctor? They should be able to help you set up an appropriate tapering schedule. I can't really give you a definitive time frame for how long they will last, a lot of it depends on your body and how it reacts, but usually it takes a week or two. ## Just started subs 8m.g 2m.g...six days ago...I had a tooth pulled and now have dry socket...how long will the subs remain in my system? ## The last 4days I have took 5to 6 hydrocodone 10/325 a day yesterday I didn't and today I didn't but I still feel light headed and flirting in my ches...

Can medication listed in title cause liver (Bilirubin) increases? My Bilirubin labs have been coming back at at 1.6-1.9. Can it be harmful in the long run? ## The APAP is medication speak for Acetaminophen and it is very well known that long-term use of it can have detrimental effects on the liver. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? If you require a narcotic analgesic, you may need to switch to something that doesn't have the Acetaminophen in it. ## Get off that crap. Acetaminophen will destroy your liver. You're getting 5 mg hydro & 500 acetaminophen. They make percocets in low doses and with no acetaminophen. It is in the oxycodone family... but it is usually not teamed with acetaminophen. ## What are the long term implications of taking Hydrocodone? Has anyone taken...

Is it really hydrocone 10- 325 generic lortab??? ## Lortab, Norco and Vicodin all have hydrocodone and tylenol in them So yes, hydrocodone and tylenol is generic for Lortab. ## Hello, Chic! How are you? What BL has posted is correct. However, if you're asking about the tablet with the N S1 marking, it is manufactured by Nostrum Laboratories and they list it as containing 1mg of Sucralfate, so it is not any type of opiate. The FDA classifies this as an anti-ulcer medication and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, backache, constipation and indigestion. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Well I have been taking hydros, for a while now and it's like I'm have problems getting off of them. But the doctor perceived me some tyolanal 3s 30mgs.

Side effects of getting off of hydro codons ## I haven't taken Hydro's for 5 days. The only side effect I'm having is a lot of fatigue. I don't want to do anything because I get so tired and a little restlessness at night. Before I go to bed, I drink a cup of Sleepy Time tea, take one Passion Flower pill 250MG & before I know it, I want to go to bed. The side effects that some people may experience when you stop taking Hydros may be: cold flashes w/goose bumps, excessive yawning or sneezing, extreme drowsiness, diarrhea, insomnia, involuntary leg movements, mood changes, muscle and bone pain, sweats and strong drug craving. Go to google and ck all this out. Good luck my friend. Be strong. ## A SUGGESTION TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE TRYING TO FIGHT WITHDRAWAL FROM OPIATES: Go...

oblong white pill with lP118 on it.i'm sleeping too much. ## The marking is actually IP118, this is Acetaminophen 750mgs and Hydrocodone 7.5mgs, a generic for Vicodin ES. Drowsiness is a very common side effect of all narcotic drugs, the longer you are on this dosage, the more your body should get used to it and the side effects should taper off. Unfortunately, if you are like me, then they never entirely taper off and you may have to fight drowsiness as long as you have to take narcotics. I have been on Morphine and Oxycodone, without changing the dosage, for several years now and I still have to fight drowsiness everyday. The worse of it will usually hit within a half-hour to 45 minutes of taking the pill. I just have to make myself stay awake, or sleeping is all I would do. So yo...

Text alerts plz.on prescription drugs. ## Hello, Shawnquita! How are you? I'm sorry, but this site doesn't offer a text alert service. However, there is an email newsletter you can sign up, by putting your email address in the box, when making or responding to a post. The tablet with the IP 466 marking actually contains 800mgs of Ibuprofen, so it is not any type of narcotic. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

Will taking a few hydrocodone, during withdraw from suboxone, prolong the time it will take to get over the suboxone? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? The Hydrocodone will not have any effect, since the Naloxone in the Suboxone blocks it and the Buprenorphine is what will have the stronger grip on your opiate receptors. You have to be off of Suboxone for several days, before you can take anything else. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are you following your doctor's taper schedule? ## I've taken some sub's for like 4 days.. Usually a 8 a day..I get my Vic's Wednesday.. I started today.Sunday.no suboxone.. So will...

My husband was given narcoset (spelling?) for severe neck and back pain, now he is so dizzy he can't stand; is this normal. ## Did you mean Norco or Percocet? They are two different medications. Norco contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. Both, however, are narcotic pain medications and yes, dizziness can be a side effect, especially if he is not used to taking narcotics. It should wear off, as his body adjusts to the medication and it should only last for an hour, at the most, after he takes the medication. If it lasts longer than that, doesn't wear off or gets worse, then he will need to stop using them and contact his doctor. He may also experience other side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are...

Been on this for years and again these 2172 are not the same. They must differ in someplace. I get nauseous from them. After taking them almost 20 years there has to be something off here or I wouldn't feel this way. I can take a 10/660 Watson be fine and take a 5/325 2172 and within 30 min I want to vomit! ## Well, you are mentioning 2 different dosages, the pill with the 2172 marking contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone, and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, it is distributed by Major Pharmaceuticals. NDC: 00904-6567 So, if you are used to taking a higher dose, such as the other you've mentioned, then you may be experiencing some withdrawal effects, which may include nausea, headache, vomiting, rebound pain, and sedation, according to FDA reports. Was your dosage supposed to be changed?

This is hydrocodone 7.5's .. My dr prescribed me these & that's exactly what they are. ## I'm sorry, but that is not correct. The tablets with the L544 marking are over the counter tablets which contain 650mgs of Acetaminophen. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and headache. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm sorry to say that your doctor prescribed you a very costly OTC (Over The Counter) Acetaminophen 650mg tablet and passed it off as Hydrocodone; Acetaminophen is EXTREMELY cheap, compared to the Loritab/Hydrocodone. If your tablet is white, oblong and has L544 on one side and nothing on the other side, it IS AN OTC DRUG. Any pill that has a L on it is an OTC drug that can be purchased at any local Walmart, Walgreens or Ingles, for that matter....

My 73 year old mother ended chemo in June and had bladder surgery in July with a stent put in. She was in a lot of pain and started taking Norco. 2 weeks ag she had the stent taken out and us in less pain, but I am worried about the Norco because she hasn't been herself since the surgery and starting Norco. She's been in bed, not really a desire to eat and it seems the Norco has been messing with her head. Can Norco have this effect? I'm trying to encourage her to reaper off but I don't know the best way. Please help. ## Jill, you need to talk to her dr or take her in for an appointment. This med can have side effects like the ones you described. But, it could also be other things. When older patients undergo a general anesthesia, it can affect them mentally long term. #...

I have been on Hydrocodone for a fractured neck from a motorcycle accident. I am now off after having terrible withdrawal symptoms. This drug is very very addictive and your system will become immune to it very quickly if taken long term. I am now on Ultram which is a form of narcotic but not addictive. Really helps a lot. ## Ultram is not really a narcotic, they classify it as one because it is dervice from an Opiate, however its properties are actually those of an antiinflammatory. And yes. Hydrocodone is very addictive, though it you were taking it as prescribed by your doctor, they should have helped you taper off and minimize the withdrawal effects. ## I'm going to respond to Verwon, even though his post is 9 yrs old, just in case someone has the same problem now. There was a d...

Just stopped taking this 2 days ago... I am having blurred ... double vision bad today. Should I call my Dr, or just wait it out? ## These effects are normal if you have stopped the medication cold turkey, depending on how long you were taking them and how often, you may also experience: nausea, diarrhea, chills and vomiting. Your body does get used to anything you ingest regularly and abrupt cessation can cause minor withdrawal symptoms. If they get more severe or troublesome, then you should see your doctor or go to the nearest emergency care center. Have you developed any new symptoms? ## I broke my wrist and was given HYDROCO/APAP 7.5-500Tab Mallk Chem, Generic for LORTAB for pain. I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 4 times daily for post surgery pain for 2 weeks. My dr recently switched me to 50 mg tramadol because he wasn't in the office to write me a script. Will the tramadol be just as effective? I just took 3 50 mg tramadol to start off with. ## Hello, Dustin! How are you? The data varies and states that it takes 50 to 100mgs of Tramadol to be equal to each 10mgs of Hydrocodone. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. How much did you doctor advise you to take?

is it hard to get off this pill i am taking 4 day for my back ## The active narcotic in this, Hydrocodone, can be habit forming, even when it's not abused, but it will really depend on how long you've been taking it. If you haven't been on it for many months or years, then any possible withdrawal effects should be minimal, but can include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and drowsiness, as well as rebound pain. I had knee replacement surgery two weeks ago and took oxycodone and then vicodin. I've had nausea from surgery and for the entire two weeks. I've stopped taking all narcotics for two days but still have nausea. When can I expect the GI upset to go away? ## Hello, Carmen! How are you feeling? Has the nausea eased, yet? Both the anesthesia used during the surgery and the medications can cause nausea that may linger for quite awhile, even after you stop taking them. However, after being off of it all for a week, or so, it should start to improve. If it doesn't, then you should consult your doctor. The FDA classifies this medication as a analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constip...

I have been on hydroco done for a long time I have had two back surgery I'm trying to get off this meds it's for ever 6 hours I'm down to 1-1/2 a day but my legs keep me up at night and have had headaches how long does this last the with drawls ## Yes hydro is a opiate no doubt, I have to be honest with you, is it just me, I found hydro is better than oxy, everybody loves oxy and my doctor put me on it, but I really find hydro is better, anyone else feel this or am I nuts? ## Hello, Sassy! How are you? The withdrawal effects may last for a couple of weeks, perhaps up to a month. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, diarrhea, fever, chills and anxiety. Godsaven, it can vary from person to person, while Oxycodone does work well for some people, that is not t...

I have been taking Percoset and Norco for about 18 months, with no real side effects. Six days ago, my doctor switched me to Oxycontin 20mg twice a day. For the past 3 days, my ankles and feet have been rather swollen. Can Oxycontin cause this. I thought Percoset and Oxycontin were the same thing, except that Percoset is immediate release and Oxycontin is sustained release. I also take hydrocodone every 4 hours for break thru pain. ## YOU REALLY NEED TO GET OFF OF OXY IT IS REALLY BAD ON YOU I BEEN TAKEING THEM FOR 5 YEARS AND NOW WHEN I TRY TO QUIT IT MAKES ME REALY SICK I WOULD STAY WITH THE PERCOSET OR GO TO LOWER TAB 10 OR GO TO KADDEN ## @ Wes. I have really bad rheumatoid arthritis and bad knees had one replaced have been on hydrocodone but now doctor is trying to get me to go off of that or at least go down to three a day this would work during the day but then at night I can’t sleep because of paint so can I take Tylenol p.m. to sleep at night ## If you are taking Hydrocodone that also contains Acetaminophen, it would be best not to add the Tylenol, since it also contains Acetaminophen, which could result in your experiencing Acetaminophen toxicity, and it has been known to be fatal. The FDA warns that Hydrocodone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. What has your physician advised to help with your insomnia issues?

How long does it take for the side effect of constipation from hydrocodone to wear off? I stopped taking it Sunday and now its Tuesday and there is no relief from the constipation. I feel "swollen" and my stomach is refluxing badly and I am losing my appetite. ## Hello, Jp! How are you feeling? Have you tried anything to relieve it, such as a fiber supplement? That's what I have always found to work best, when I experienced that side effect. You should also have this checked out, because that could be the sign of a serious complication. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
