I am taking Folitrax- 10mg once in a week. also I am taking Arava-25mg once dailywith Pentocid-5mg. Also I am taking Folovite 02 tablets per week since a year. My anle pain has reduced substantially but swelling prevails. Now on Qtrly check up of CBC, ESR,it was found Hb is coming down and ESR level is going high sometimesas 60. Although SGPT & Ceratimine level are within limit. Is it the side effects of the medicines? ## I am suffering from arthritis from last 5 years and I am taking folitrax - 15 mg for last 3 years. I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. Doctor prescribed Folitrax 15 mg, every monday. Since 15 mg tablets are not available in the available, can I take 3 tablets of Folitrax 5 mg, together? Will it create any problem? ## Hi Granny, The only potential problem I see with taking three 5mg tablets as opposed to one 15mg tablet, is that you are getting 3x the amount of binders/fillers, otherwise known as inactive ingredients. Certain "inactive" ingredients which may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. In other words they could effect the overall absorption and efficacy of the drug itself; so more is not always better in that regard.
