Hi all, Unfortunately some of these drugs have nasty side effects, but this is nothing compared to coming off them. Take it twice as slow as your doctor recommends, if you're still feeling the 'flu', take half a pill and it will help you get through it. Never buy generics.

I recently had an emergency reaction to Brintellix. The active ingredient is Vortioxetine and it has 532 known drugs that if taken at the same time will cause serotonin syndrome. In my case i had withdrawals changing from one med to another, so i was give an anti-nausea tablet. It turned out this was one of the meds that clashes with Vortioxetine. It is now clear to me that little is known in the Dr community regarding this drug. ## Hi Simon, Sorry to hear about your severe reaction to Brintellix. I agree with you wholeheartedly that our doctors should be taught much more about these types of medications & interactions in school. Unfortunately, this level of education is handed down to pharmacists instead of the physician who prescribes us something for a very specific reason. So wi...

Can serotonin syndrome be caused by 20 mg of brintellix and 100 mg of seroquil? I am very sensitive to meds and any minor change in medication dosage. I am experiencing bad anxiety and agitation as well as severe diarrhea. Anything that I eat comes out the other way immediately as liquid. I have lost 5 pounds in 5 days. I don't have the flu that I know of. I do not have the serious symptoms of serotonin syndrome though. Could this just be a bad interaction? ## Hello, Ceili! How are you? Has there been any change? Those could also just be side effects of one, or both, of these medications, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications? How long have you been taking these? ## Hi. You are taking the highest rec...

hi, I'm currently shaky, sweaty, heart is racing, feeling hot and I think I am beginning to get the runs and don't know if it is a drug interaction with my sumatriptan and fluvoxamine ## Hello, Rhi! How are you? Yes, it is is possible. Have you consulted your doctor? You should do so immediately to have this checked out, if it is serotonin syndrome, it could be very dangerous. Other symptoms, as listed by the NIH, may possibly include body jerking or twitching, over responsive reflexes and seizures. How long have you been on them both?

Stalevo side effects.i have Parkinson's and recently got a whole host of problems including off scale Dyskinesia and manic behaviour and rigid jaw and tensions in my neck ... these have together caused huge problems and my health has deteriorated. I wonder how to distinguish what is P Disease symptom from side effect or drug interaction. Many of the new problems started after a change from Madopar to Stalevo which went wrong... and proved to be an overdose. It was also done when I was taking rasagaline... Drug interaction rasagaline clonzapam, links to or causes of Serotonin syndrome.

I have been taking Effexor XR for 3 years and added Wellbutrin XL about a year ago. I am taking 300mg of each once daily. But now I am experiencing what I describe as shocks or flutters starting at my head and traveling down my body. Sometimes I feel like I might fall but I have not. I have been to my PCP and a neurologist, after a million tests still no answer. After looking on line it sounds like serotonin syndrome to me. Not a drastic case but enough to be irritating. ## What has your doctor said about this possibility? Our bodies do change with time, as we age, so it is always possible that we could suddenly start experiencing issues that we didn't in the past, even if the dosage of given medications haven't recently changed. ## if it where Serotonin syndrome you would proba...

I ran out of neurontin after slow response from mail order drug company. I had serotonin syndrome after abrupt withdrawal from amitriptylene and fear this could happen again. I am having agitation, itching, sleeplessness and a feeling of crawling on my body. ## The symptoms you're experiencing can be normal withdrawal symptoms from abruptly stopping a medication. Serotonin syndrome, which can be life threatening, does not usually occur from stopping a medication, it occurs due to taking too many medications that increase the amount of Serotonin in the brain. Learn more Serotonin Syndrome details here. How high of a dosage of the Neurontin have you been taking? I was dizzy, my vision was blurred. I had severe confusion, not being able to complete my sentences or hold conversations. I gained a bunch of weight. I had night terrors... Blood hurling scream nightmares. I would wake seeing images standing over my bed. I would have these bad dreams and wake up, when I would go back to sleep It would start right up where it left off.
