I just started taking Seroquel for Anxiety and really bad Panic attacks. Can anyone tell me good things about this medication?? ## I've been taking Seroquel for almost a year, and it has changed my life for the better!! Stick with it, it will make you very sleepy at first, but you will get used to it and it is a life saver!! ## My doc tried me on 200 mg 3 times a day and they kick my ass. I took a bong outside at 6 in the morning, in my underwear. My son woke up and ask me what was wrong. I was not told the reason I went freaking bald was these pills. My daughter and I are both balding. hell,no I am 4 days off seroquel, welbutrin xl, and buspar, all of which cause hair loss. the doctor took me off 250 seroquel and told me that I would only gain weight on the higher amount. put me on 100 and I gained 20 pounds. mind you I had gastric bypass and eat basically grapes and dang apples. I am itching like crazy and digging like I have something. Here's my experience. (I'm a 57 yo man) I was on 30mg of Trazodone. At first it worked. But after that year, the drug Seroquel was mentioned for the 100th time bcuz I didn't want to take such a strong med, but the type. After a little research Seroquel IS given at 25mg and 50mg 20 min before sleep. In all transparency, I suffer from Nocturia, a condition that make you wake 3-7 times to pee. My sleep was hardly worth the word.) From the first night I took Seroquel at 50mg and not only did I get up once but went right back to sleep It has, been some odd reason, a cure for the Nocturia ( I don't wake even once) and sleep like a baby for 7-11 hours every night, for the first time in over 3 years and I couldn't be happier getting that kind of sleep. I am having trouble withdrawing from Seroquel. I used to take 100mg for sleep, but managed to bring my dosage down to 25mg. However, I started to have anxiety problems and went back to 50 mg. Since then I've been shaving the 50 mg pill down to 3/4 of a pill. However I get very tired and groggy. If I try to shave it down further I get anxiety that only improves when I take more seroquel. It seems like I have a choice between anxious and groggy. Do you have any suggestions for how I could get off of seroquel completely while minimizing the grogginess and/or anxiety? ## Have you consulted your doctor for assistance? I would like to know which generic brand of Seroquel is most effective and also the brands that are least effective? I recently tried Accord and that wasn't effective. Thank you to anyone who will help me with this. ## My son was also just changed to accord and it isn't working the same. It's so frustrating because I just picked up a 100 days supply. ?? He was on 50 mg before but an orange pill then he tried 300mg but it was too strong so I've been cutting them. i have a partially used bottle of seroquel 100mg that expired on 1/15/15. is it still suitable to use? today's date is 3/4/15. ## Hi Jiffy, According to two different articles - one from Harvard University and the other from LA Times, many medications remain good for up to 10-40 years past the listed expiration date, depending on the substance and how it's stored...I don't have a complete list of these exact medications, nor do I encourage taking something that's been expired for quite some time - but seeing as your medication is less than two months old, my opinion is that it should have most if not all of its efficacy still intact. I am trying to wean myself off of Seroquel. I started at 100mg and weaned myself down to 25. It was fine for a while until anxiety symptoms reoccurred. I am now taking about 3/4 of a 25 mg tablet by shaving it down with a file. I also take .5mg clonopin at night to curb anxiety. The problem is that I am waking up groggy and tired, which is weird because that never happened on the higher dose. But If I try to shave it back to half a pill, I can't sleep and experience bad anxiety. How can I get myself off of this stuff so that I don't get anxious and avoid the tiredness, that sometimes lasts all day? ## I made a mistake. I have taken one 100 Mg tablet of seroquel and noticed it can enhance weight gain. Has anyone had any experience with this. I am overweight, and have lost 14 lbs and cannot gain any weight. Hello, I am a 48 year old woman and I have been on 100mg of seroquel at night for 8 years for depression and sleep. I need to slowly taper off this. It seems it is making me even more tired and I sleep and sleep for very long hours. I have a lot of issues with it. I have a few questions. I take the 100mg tablet at night. I also have some of the 25 mg and was going to use those to taper. But even though I know 4 of the 25 mg tablets are 100mg, It seems to work different when taken that way? Anyone else notice this? Should I just try to cut up the 100mg and taper that? I wanted to take 75mg and take the other 25 mg tablet and cut it up. I want to do a very slow taper. I was 1st prescribed seroquel when I entered treatment for alcohol addiction, anxiety, and depression. I am proud to say I am now 5-1/5 years sober and wondering if or why I still need to be on this medicine. I take 100mg @ night along w/ 50mg of Zoloft. My biggest concern is if I will ever get to sleep w/o aid ## If you've been taking them for years, actually even if you've just been taking one of them for years, then the best way to stop taking them would be to do a slow taper. Hi, I take 100 mg of seroquel at night and have for 10 years. I do have the 25 mg tablets as well as the 100 mg ones. I take this for sleep for fibromyalgia. I itch and itch now after I take seroquel. It is getting worse. Getting bruises from itching on my legs. :'( I have been having a feeling in my throat like itching and tickling. Been through this before with other types of medications. I have had hives from other medications I had to stop before. I am allergic to a lot of medications.
