That is far too many to take in one day. Especially if they are the old ones that contained that much Acetaminophen, taking 8 of them could result in a toxic overdose and this person needs to seek medical attention. Any amounts of Acetaminophen over 3,000 mgs a day can be toxic and very dangerous, it could cause fatal liver failure. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
