Hi, I have been using Prexum 4mg now for about 2 years, my wife and myself have been trying to get pregnant now for about 7 months, does Prexum affect men's fertility? ## Hello, Francois! How are you? No, it shouldn't cause any fertility problems, though it can cause erectile dysfunction. Have you both had things checked out to see why she isn't getting pregnant?

My 87 yr old mother has just been prescribed Prexum for conjestive heart failure ## My 87 yr old mother has been prescribed Prexum for conjestive heart failure, she is also on an anti depresant, 'Nuzak' for acute pain in ther back. Is there an interaction between the two medications ## Prexum Plus contains Perindopril and Indapamide, both of which are commonly prescribed to treat CHF, though it may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, dizziness and dehydration. Nuzak contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant. Is her doctor aware that she is taking the antidepressant with the other medication? Combining the Fluoxetine with the Indapamide can increase the risk of hyponatremia, which is very low serum sodium.

What is the drug that can be used in case I am unable to find prexum plus ## Prexum contains the active ingredient Perindopril, it is an ACE inhibitor that is used to treat high blood pressure. While there are certainly a good number of other prescription alternatives to Prexum, there are even more natural alternatives that in my opinion can be just as or more effective than prescription medication if taken seriously. I personally had high blood pressure, but was able to control it by controlling my eating habits and exercising. What works for me may not work for everyone, but my initial advice is to look into natural ways such as: Low/no sodium foods to help reduce inflammation and water retention; supplementation of garlic, as well as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Eating plenty o...

I have been on Prexum 4mg for a month and my bloodpressure only came down to 140/95. I had lower back aches most days and stopped running and cycling. There wasn't much improvement with the back ache. Then I went onto Prexum plus 2 weeks ago as the Dr wanted BP to be lower. I now have severe back ache and lower back spasms that even walking seems to make it worse. I have been to the chiropractor as well as the physio with no improvement. Could this be a side effect of the medication? ## Yes, some blood pressure and cardiac medications can cause that as a side effect, as reported by the NIH. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. You may be better served by switching to a different medication. Is this your only daily medication?

difference between hexal Lisinopril 20mg and Prexum 4mg ## (Aside from the obvious dosage difference of 20mg of Lisinopril and 4mg of Prexum) - While both of these medications are in the same drug class with the same purpose of lowering blood pressure, the primary differences lie within the chemical makeup of each drug, as well as the addition of certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each tablet. Both of these factors play a detrimental role as to how each drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may agree with one medication over the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. I hope this helps! ## Thank you, My Clinic argue that they are the same as far as strength is con...

what is the difference between the two, prexum plus 5mg versus prexum 5mg. My pharmacy insists they the same, then why the difference with the plus? ## can i take prexum plus 5mg if Dr prescribed prexum plus 4mg pharmacist gave me 5mg ## Hello Debbie, From what I can find on these drugs the only difference between the two is that Prexum Plus also contains the active ingredient Indapamide - 1.25Mg. Indapamide is used to reduce high blood pressure and reduce extra salt and fluid in the body. If your doctor is prescribing your Prexum for the use of the active ingredient perindopril arginine then there will be no difference between the two. I hope this information helps. ## Can I take Prexum Plus together with Prexum 4mg?

If you're blood pressure has been at normal levels on this dose, it's possible that the dose is now too high and you may need to take a lower one.
