Found pill in my hallway, it has a clear imprint of C 9 on it. May have had something on other side, but it was wore off. Tried looking up, can't find. Is Betamox 500mg safe for swollen ang painful gums? ## Hello, Based on my research, Betamox contains Amoxicillin which is an antibiotic. It is meant to be used for bacterial infections including but limited to: acute otitis media, streptococcal pharyngitis, pneumonia, skin infections, urinary tract infections, salmonella, lyme disease, and chlamydia infections. I would not use this medication to treat swollen and painful gums. If you mix a pinch of salt with warm water and rinse out your mouth with it twice a day, it should help to increase blood circulation in the gums and reduce swelling.
