Pill Mills

All I hear about over the last 1-2 years is how Florida's "easy" pill mill doctors have made it so difficult for legitimate patients to get help with their pain. I'm not talking subjective pain but serious objective diagnoses which range from RA, lupus, sickle cell to cancer with mets to the bone. If anyone know how and why this was able to happen so openly for so long I would really like to know. I have visited Florida on vacation and we were shocked at the offers of drug sales at just about every beach and place we went. When we were having trouble getting care in our own state, with the referral of my Oncologist, we contemplated flying to Florida in order to visit a pill mill doc I was so desperate. How the hellldid I get here? I'm too stoned to be in some middle of the dead end of a pill mills inside operation tour. Hey, let's legalize marijuana & many a kind folks can come of all these nasty pills. Pain sucks, but cannabis relaxes the muscle & core of the body, it's amazing even w/ my accidents & severity it's a great reliever of pain that the pharmaceuticals & their poisons. May I ask if there is really heroin in any amount of a hydrocodone m 367 10 mil? I suspect my son to be abusing it. ## No, it is a completely different substance from hydrocodone, they are both opiates but that's all they have in common, hydro is a much much weaker form of opiate ## No, that is a Schedule I drug, which means that it has no medical use by the DEA. It is an illegal substance and is not in any prescribed medications.

Hi, I am aware of the big florida crackdown on pill mills. However, I have legit pain and no insurance. So, does anyone know of a place that accepts walk ins with no insurance. It's because the dea is shutting down all the pill mills and pain clinics in Florida, there was a time when people from my state,GA would go down there to use there clinics, the DEA caught wind of this and started shutting things down. So as of now April of 2013 all the people from Florida an other states are comming here to get the medication so they're not sick. Which creates a drought. The pharmacies cannot keep up with the demand and they also profile people that look like they would abuse or sell the narcotic pill. I personally use one mom and pops store, once you find a place that will fill it your normally gonna keep going back there since your on record, and if they don't have them they can call another one of their branches to see if they have any. Hello: I live about an hour from the Georgia border with Florida and due to the shut down of all the pill mills and the legitimate doctors scared by the DEA to write any scripts, I need to find a pain clinic or doctor who will write scripts for verifiable spinal injuries and pain. Wondering if anyone knows of a quick in and out pain clinic in downtown Atlanta ## There are none to be found anywhere in the U.S. anymore. Such places were pill mills, for the most part, and have been shut dow by the government. Why isn't your current doctor helping you?

I have been on Tylox, dilaudid, and Extended Release Hydricodone and Exteneed Release Opana for many years due to an MVA, resulting in severe injuries that were not properly repaired. I have what is considered "failed surgery syndrone. I'm wondering where i can fill my 30mg oxycodone script in vero beach, florida. Its a conn. prescription and my dr has no problem calling the pharmacy but i have been hearing crazy stuff about pharmacies here not stocking opiates because of all the pill mills here. ## I'm sorry, but I have no way of knowing which pharmacy stocks any given medication, in any state. I was in a severe car accident and suffered t7t8t9 fractures and already had a previous back injury. Are there any FL Medicaid managed care groups that cover Buprenorphine, either for addiction or chronic pain? After becoming disabled, I can not work, depend on SSI, to survive, but end up spending 70% of that supplement, meant to cover living expenses, on out of network office visits and Rx. Unfortunately, thanks to the rx drug abusers and greedy (dr's) pill mills that once operated like candy stores, the only opioid available, legally in FL is Bup. Thank God I don't have cancer pain, but I do have multiple conditions that cause intolerable pain. I recently went to the ER with a kidney stone and had to pass it with Motrin! a nurse toldf me that where I live, in Chicago, there clinics where doctors simply dispense whatever you ask for ## It has been known to happen, but such occurrences are the reason that the government has made so many crackdowns on prescription drug laws. I don't know of any place that still does this, most have been shut down. They were usually called 'Pill Mills'. my mother is terminaly ill we cant find her medication anywhere in volusia county florida she take methadone 10 mg tabs for pain she has'nt had any in three days I don't know what to do ## Try to find out if they have the liquid instead. Or see if they have the 5mg pills. If not her doctor will have to prescribe something that is opiate based until you find a pharmacy that has it or until it becomes availale again. On vacation and am in extreme mid level back pain. I know Florida is weird w prescribing pain killers since all the pharm mills but I'm 42, on my back, and really don't want a lesson on drug seeking behavior. Need a doc who will listen. I have been prescribed oxycodone 15mg for my chronic pain for close to 3 months and all of a sudden none of my local pharmacies have it in stock to give me a refill. Has anybody else been noticing this problem as well? ## It appears that there was a shortage, due to imposed manufacturing limits at the end of the year, so it may just be taking awhile for all pharmacies to get a supply back in to fill prescriptions. THAT GIVES OUT METHADONE FOR PAIN. I BEEN GETTING 80 MILLAGRAMS IN MORNING AND 80 AT NIGHT TIME THAT WORKED FINE, NOW THIS NEW DOCTOR DOES NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT METHADONE. hey just wondering if anyone would kno what direction to send me! ..a fried of mine his brother was on the methadone program 50 mls. the drug store screwed up made it to strong and gave him 80 some mills.. which ended up killing him. he had no other drugs in his system at the time and this was the reason for his death. now there was a lenghty battle and the family recieved 25,000 for his death which i think it ridiculous. they settled because they couldnt bear to have it drug out any longer. now what im wondring is what can be done for justice to be served now to get it reopen and get these 2 indiviuals who were in the wrong for wrongful distribution held responsible for their actions.
