I am having to find a new doctor for my Psychiatric medicines. 3 of those medicines are controlled substances. I live in Kentucky and am going to try going to a doctor in Tennessee I am wanting to know can I get the scripts written in Tennessee filled in Kentucky with no problem? My Insurance won't work in Tennessee. And I can't afford to pay out of pocket. I am already having to pay out of pocket for doctor visit.

I live in Somerset Ky. I have a pre written prescription of hydrocodone 90 10/325. I will be working in Franklin Indiana when my refill is due way into past refill date. I would like to know if Ind will fill that Ky script? Thank you ## Yes, technically you can, however, most pharmacies will not fill them, because it is difficult for them to validate it to ensure it is a legitimate prescription. You may want to try speaking to someone as your current pharmacy to see if they have an affiliate in that area, as they may be able to smooth the way for you to get it filled. The FDA warns that narcotics carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## i want to fill te...

I am new here but have stalked for years and always read posts but now im here to get a legit answer, so here it is. I see a pain doctor in NY and fill it in NY, now if i was to fill a script from a doctor in NY but filled it in NJ would i get flagged? Will my regular pain doctor find out that i filled a script in NJ? Bottom line is do NY and NJ share prescription information? And again everything I've researched states NJ has no sharing with NY YET but it is soon to come. Thank you and anyone who knows about this please share because I'm losing it. ## I honestly don't know exactly how their system works, but from related stories I've seen posted here on multiple occasions, I speculate that all the pharmacies (and/or?) doctors nationwide have access to a common database ...

Pharmacies in WV that will fill my subutex that aren't to pricey and they have to be accepting new clients. ## Good luck, most people are having to drive to Pa or DC to fill their prescriptions. Email me {edited for privacy} ## I'm in need of a new pharmacy. The one I was going to quit carrying them. If anyone knows of any around wv or pa please let me know. ## I live in WV and go to PA to the doc. But I can't find a pharmacy in either state to fill a prescription for Buprenorphine 8mg tabs. Any info on possible pharmacies that carry these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ## I am having the same problem. Did. My script for hydrocodone was written by my doc in washington. I am currently in California, and they will not refill. Does Nevada or Idaho honor out of state scripts for same? ## Hello, Jerry! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Unfortunately, it's going to be very difficult to find a pharmacy that's willing to fill an out of state prescription. There are two reasons for this, the first being that it is much harder for them to validate the prescription to ensure that it's legitimate. The second reason is due to the fact that pharmacies are limited, by the DEA, in how much of any given controlled substance they can order in and stock each month. This means that most will only fill prescriptions for people that live locally. Many even require ...

I am new to the Jacksonville area from NY and my NY dr prescribed my script for lyrica and percocet 10mg because he knew there would be a gap between getting new ins. coverage and finding a new rhumetologist ( as I have fibromyalgia ) I have been to too many pharmacies to count only to be told they are "out" of the medication. So now here I am trying to start a new job and new life here in Jacksonville without my medication. Please help.... What do I do? ## Veronica: if your prescriptions are written by a Doctor in New York, I'm sorry to tell you NO PHARMACY in Arkansas will fill them. They can't. The DEA regulations will NOT allow a pharmacy in Arkansas to fill any controlled substance prescriptions from any other state. You will have to find a Doctor here in Arkansas, ...

I have a Kentucky Licenses and went to a pain clinic in GA, they prescribed me Oxycodone 15mg and Hydrocodone 10mg. I have been to several pharmacies in Kentucky and cannot get them filled. Does anyone know where I can get my prescriptions filled rather here in Kentucky or out of state in GA or TN?? Please Help at all if possible, thanks! ## I understand your dilemma, but unfortunately don't know what to do about it. You are kind of running into similar problems in whatever state you try to get them filled, there is always a piece of information that the pharmacy has to be suspicious of, because they can't easily verify it. Why didn't you go to a local pain clinic? ## Is a pharmacy by law allowed to keep or tear up your script ## If you people would go to a Legit Dr, you wou...

I recently moved to CA from CO to take care of my ailing mother. I have fibromyalgia, severe, acute pain, and need to know if there is a pharmacy in Riverside County, CA that will fill my RX written by my dr in CO? ## Unfortunately, it isn't very likely that you're going to find one willing to fill it for you. Due to the need for them to be able to very the legitimacy of the prescription, most will balk at filling them for controlled substances, if the doctor doesn't practice within a certain radius of the pharmacy. Have you found a doctor in your new area, yet? That would most likely be the easiest way to get the help you need. ## Triplicate prescriptions for narcotics are not alkowed to be filled outside of the state where the doctor is licensed to practice medicine. im a florida resident and my current pharmacy is out of three narcotics that i take can i fill my scripts in new jersey new jersey is my home state so i am there quite often ## Hello, Dernise! How are you? If the prescriptions have been written by a doctor in Florida and you live there, then it is highly doubtful that a pharmacy in another state will fill them, because that means they are difficult for them to verify and it makes it much easier for someone to doctor and pharmacy hop. Have you tried checking with other pharmacies in your area to see if they have them? ## If the pharmacy is out, simply ask them to order it. Normally a pharmacy can have it in a couple days. ## I have a script from Yonkers ny n I can't find nowhere to fill my script which is oxycodone 30mlg quantity 140...

I am in Houston & have terminal disease and been on hydrocodone 10-325 & fentanyl patch for years. Picked up prescriptions today and Walgreens filled fentanyl patch but says No one has hydrocodone? Said it was manufacture? They gave me no options, tried a private pharmacy and got no where. Is there anything anybody knows ## @Dsh, Sorry to hear about your situation. It seems as though many chronic pain patients are facing a similar dilemma at this point in time (given the recent state of opioid madness going on throughout the country). I do find it extremely unusual however that pharmacies don't have something as "light" as hydrocodone in stock at any given time. Shortage problems like this appear to be out of the doctor's control who wrote the prescription for yo...

the pharmicst think there god i have been getting them filled for three years now all of a sudden they dont want to fill them same dr same meds im so sick of this ## @big ed, I definitely understand your frustration with these pharmacies. From what others have stated, I get the sense that the DEA is the one controlling how much they hand out and how often they are even able to hand it out. There's really no other logical explanation for pharmacists to freak out about filling patients prescriptions other than the notion that their inventory is probably being strictly monitored by the DEA. What I have yet to figure out is why doctors are even permitted to write so many scripts for it, when only a small percentage of patients are allowed the luxury of getting them filled? Who knows how...

Please Help at all if possible, thanks! ## Hi Tommy, If you can't get your prescriptions filled locally, have you considered opting for an online pharmacy that can ship you your meds? I personally haven't used this method for getting a prescription, but I know there are a handful of sites out there that are safe and legal to order from amongst the swarm of bad ones: Legitimate online pharmacies that carry the VIPPS seal are listed at: nabp.net/programs/accreditation/vipps/find-a-vipp...

I am moving to Florida from New Jersey in dec my Dr writes my scripts for oxycodone 15 mg and oxycontin 20 mg for two weeks and gives me both of them post dated to fill 2 weeks later for 2 more weeks bc of my insurance will I have trouble filling the post dated scripts from Jersey in Fl when I get there ? ## Hello, Jamie! How are you? Yes, you most likely won't be able to get them filled. Most pharmacies won't touch out of state prescriptions, because it's much harder to verify their validity. Supply problems have also caused many pharmacies to have to restrict their customer base to only people who live within a certain radius of their store and whose doctors are also located within a certain radius of their store. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be...

are the crush proof 40mg opanas out yet ## are the crush proof 40mg opanas out yetorbne ## Yes, they do appear to have been recently made available in the new formulation. However, some pharmacies may still be experiencing a backlog, due to the fact that the supply was short for awhile and many people were waiting to get their prescriptions filled. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I noticed the label on my last refill for opana 40mg for the 1st time stated "the color & shape of this medication may be different from what you have been getting, but still works the same as your previous med." Upon checking, some pills were the same hexigonal shaped yellow pills i had been getting and the remaining pills were the same color but were round and were almost like rubber...

I'm from pa but am visiting family in ohio. I ran out of my pain meds. I'm in a lot of pain. Is there l anyway I can get anything filled here? ## Due to the new DEA regulations that were put in place last year, it is very doubtful. Even if you have refills available on something, or a new written prescription, most pharmacies won't fill out of state prescriptions for controlled substances, because it makes it too difficult to validate them, if necessary. You could try going to an ER, but there is no guarantee that they will help you, either. Many of them won't touch chronic pain patients. Does anyone else have any ideas that may help?

I have been in roxi obtain 30mg and now I've bumped down to 15mg and recently moved to Las Vegas and I'm having a hard time finding a pharmacy that will fill my prescription for 120 15mg roxys and only 60 methadone. Any suggestions or does anyone really know what the deal is with the pharmacys telling lies? ## Hello, Adam! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. What lies are the pharmacies telling you? More information would better enable someone to help you. Were these prescriptions written by a doctor in Nevada or are they from out of state? The FDA lists these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Ve...

I've been prescribed oxycodone 30mg for almost a year now due to back and knee injuries and it has become impossible to fill my prescriptions here in the state of Florida its been impossible to fill any pain meds for that matter. What is the deal and what can I do? ## I really wish I had some type of answer for you, but unfortunately, I don't. There have been many complaints recently from people in Florida that have been having problems getting narcotic prescriptions filled. However, I haven't been able to find anything that actually explains it. I know they were trying to crackdown on the 'pill mill' problem, so that may be what's caused the issue, by making pharmacies afraid to fill them. Have any of the pharmacies given you a reason for not filling them? ## Im...

Trying to fill a written prescription from my Dr., in south Arkansas of NORCO while I'm in Lousiana on vacation & no pharmacy will fill my prescription??? Why?? ## There is a new law in Louisiana that states any Schedule II rx written by a dr that doesn't have a Louisiana License to practice medicine will only be filled for a 10 days supply. The dr will be called and informed as to why it was filled for the full amount. Although this doesn't prevent a pharmacy from filling the rx, it is all I can think if that could be the reason why they wouldn't. ## Most pharmacies will no longer fill out of state prescriptions for controlled substances, due to the fact that it is harder for them to verify the legitimacy of the prescription. Another problem is the mandatory limits ...
