Pain Management Austin Texas

Who is the best pain management doctor in the Beaumont area? We just moved from Austin, and after calling around, can't find a good one. For starters, they all tell you right off the bat they don't prescribe Oxycodone. What? Why reject a drug before you even know a patient's history or what kind of results they've had with it. Why does every pain doc in Beaumont have this asinine attitude, and what alternatives do they offer? (I am already on Fentanyl patches, with a spinal stimulator, and that does not control the pain). I'd prefer someone who takes Blue Cross Blue Shield. ## The reason you're getting that attitude is because when someone calls asking for a specific medication, doctors have been taught to view that as drug seeking behavior and they'll tell y...

CAme here from florida got pain killers for my leg need to find a doctor here who isnt paranoid of a dea shutdown ## Hi, Matt! How are you? Unfortunately, they all have to be paranoid about that. New regulations were put into effect this year and any doctor that doesn't abide by them risks losing his license to practice medicine. Your best bet would be to establish a relationship in your new location, with a PCP, then have them refer you to a pain management specialist. Do you have a PCP, yet? ## Matt, did you ever find one? I am in Beaumont, and I too need to find a doc not afraid of narcotics. Moved here from Austin, and have a hard time finding a good doctor of nearly any kind.

I am looking for a doctor in Austin Texas that will prescribe methadone. all i am finding are methadone clinics. i have a great job and insurance ## Have tried to get in to see a pain management doctor. There are clinic that specialize in pain and they should be able to prescribe methadone. I might be moving to Austin and I am facing the same problem. I saw a clinic called Austin Pain Associates that might be able to help. You might give them a call. ## Just to inform both of you, Theresa and Mirth… If you need it for pain, then any doctor can prescribe it. However, if it is for addiction treatment, then a clinic is the only option, regular doctors aren't allowed to prescribe it for that. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be...

Hi everyone. I currently suffer from severe chronic pain. I have multiple conditions one of them being chronic renal colic. Another being degeneration of discs in my lower back. I will be moving to Texas next month and need to find a pain management clinic that is compassionate, doesn't treat people like drug seekers when they truly need the help and a doctor who is not super conservative. I need a doctor willing to prescribe any narcotic and prescribes what works for me. Cash only "wellness" clinics are ok for the time being. Informing me of a pain doctor in Fort Worth Dallas Austin Houston or San Antonio is fine. Thanks in advance. ## Were you able to find any specialists to help you with your medication needs? If so, can you please share who? I have a long list of chronic...

I have a lot of issues with my spine, and am constantly in pain if I'm not laying on my stomach. It's ruined my posture, and its ruining time I should be enjoying with my daughter. Doctors are all too afraid to even look into it and wont take anything I say seriously . I am near Fort Hood . ## Hello, Breezyxbee! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain, no one should have to suffer. Unfortunately, there is no listing of doctors according to which ones will or will not prescribe pain medications that I can refer to for you. And what type of doctors have you beens seeing for it? You most likely need to see an orthopedic spinal specialist and a pain management specialist. Does anyone know of any good doctors in that area? ## If you don't mind driving down to Austin th...

Have been on oxycotin 40mg 3xdaily and percocet 15 as needed. Need a doctor who will spend time with me-long medical history. Any small town area around Austin or within 100 miles. Better yet, one that (internist-GP) who can assist in my adhd meds and knows anything about dextroamphetemine sulphate and how it can reduce pain anywhere from 50-100%. A life without opiods would be amazing. Plus, I have never addressed my ADHD-refused adderall. Have tried all the holistic hippie stuff and neuro/anti-depressants to no avail. Docs don't know what to do with me. ## Amphetamines don't help with the management of pain. There are some drs who will prescribe amphetamines to combat the sidew affects of some of the pain meds. But, those drs are few and far between, even if they are pain mana...
