Looking for a pain dr. In lex ky that treats my pain ## Hello, Timexx! How are you? All pain doctors treat pain, some just do it in different ways. One might prescribe medications, while another prefers to use other therapies. So, there's no way to guarantee what any given doctor will do, or if they will or will not prescribe anything. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

Hi we have moved to northern ky area our doctor in Louisville no longer wants to treat us due to the distance he has been our doctor for 15 years we need a good doctor who isn't afraid to prescribe my husband his pain medication he has had 4 shoulder surgeries and can no longer be helped all we can do is manage his pain does ANYONE KNOW A GOOD GP DOCTOR ? ## It most likely isn't that he no longer wants to treat you, but that he can't, if your husband requires strong narcotic pain medications and regular monitoring. Some new laws have been put in place that place many more restrictions on that. I'm also sorry to have to inform you that due to those new laws, you probably won't be able to find a general practitioner that will take on your husband as an ongoing patient ...

I have been seen by the lexington va for 2 years now with constant back pain. I've had shots and therapy for the pain. The only thin my PCM is giving me is tramadol which I have been on for 2 years and is just not doing anything to help. ## Due to the new regulations that have been put in place, if you're looking outside of the VA, you'll need to see a pain management specialist to possibly have anything stronger prescribed. Have you tried asking your doctor to refer you to someone that can help more? Most VA's have their own pain management clinics. Have you tried that, yet? ## There are no new regulations stating only pain management drs can treat chronic pain. Although many drs prefer not to treat it. You can try another primary care dr or you can ask your primary car...

Does anyone know a pain management doctor in Louisville, KY that will prescribe oxycodone/roxicodone 30,mg. My family practice doctor who I've seen for a little over five years is no longer able to prescribe narcotics due to the new laws. If anyone could help, I would so appreciate it! Thanks and have a great day! ## You weren't given any recommendations? I am not familiar with doctors there, but a piece of advice I can give you is when you call them, do not ask them to prescribe any specific medication. Most doctors will see that as being drug seeking behavior and you won't even get in the door. Learn more pain management details here. Does anyone know a doctor they can recommend there? ## I take 5 30mg Roxicodone tablets and 2x30mg MS Contin tablets daily. It was very effe...

I've had chronic pain due to autoimmune diseases for several yrs. I have been seeing a PM doctor in another state but now am in Louisville, Ky staying with a family member who has cancer. I will be here indefinitely and am running into dead ends finding a doctor who is willing to see me and write my Methadone 10 mg that I take 4 x a day. Any suggestions? It is costing me $400 a month to fly round trip each month. ## What you really need to do is make an appointment with someone as a new patient, but without asking them ahead of time if they'll prescribe any certain medication. You can tell them what your health issues are, but if you ask for a particular medication, especially one like this that is a controlled substance, most doctors and their staff are taught to view that as d...

Thanks and have a great day! ## Has your doctor been able to recommend anyone that you can see? They usually keep lists of places they can send their patients in such instances. However, regardless of the new laws, all doctors can still prescribe pain medications, there are just specific restrictions, so your doctor must not feel that you meet the criteria necessary. I'm trying to find a private doctor in the Charlotte North Carolina area that will prescribe me Methadone? I travel a lot with my job and the clinic is pretty much as inconvenient as possible. Anybody know one? ## Many private doctors will not provide Methadone treatment, unless it is a last resort for pain and nothing else has worked. It requires constant regular monitoring of the patient, as well as accountability to the government for all prescriptions written. Have you considered a possible shorter-term treatment with Suboxone? Most people can successfully get off it, without severe problems, after treatment. ## I am a Director of Quality for a manufacturing facility in Goldsboro. prescribing doctors in Louisville ky area I have 3 herniated discs fibro myalgia spondylitis I need something stronger than vicodin Please help. Tired of hurting and crying ## Help, Renee! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to whether they will or will not prescribe any given medication that I can refer to for you. If you need a narcotic medication on a long-term ongoing basis then due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, getting them to refer you to someone might be the easiest thing to do.

I don't understand why I have to suffer so much and I've lost out on so much in life. It doesn't seem fair. I live in southeast ky. I need a doctor close by. I wish I could find one close to Berea ky. ## The dea is totally stupid making seniors suffer because some young kids buy fentanyl illegally from other countries while so called pain clinics have become a billion dollar industry torturing seniors.

Anyone know of any in the southeastern KY area?? Been seeing this one for 4-5 years and now he's not even here, went on active duty with the navy. I have had neck AND back surgery. Been on Nucynta 100mgs and Lortab 10's for breakthru pain, now as of the 23rd of this month I will have nothing and be in agony, in the bed day in and day out. Really would appreciate some advice and input please. I have the MRI's and proof I need pain meds. ## His office didn't provide you with a referral or any advanced warning that he was leaving? Have you found a new doctor, yet? What I'd suggest, if you haven't, is that you call your local hospital and see if they have a social work or assistance department. They usually have information on resources to help you find a doctor that...

I lived in Alabama and was recieveing oxy -40 3 times a day , built home in ky , now and cannot get them , I have chronic pain and my quality of life has taken a big hit, can no longer do a lot , but the doctor will not give them , because of all the pill poppers , I am 60 . this is wrong !!!!!!! they worked great , a good slow release medicine ## Hello, Jim! How are you doing? Sorry that you're so miserable. The first issue is that unless you have a severely debilitating condition, such as cancer, which can cause intractable pain, then no doctor would be able to prescribe you 3 of them per day, now. The new regulations have placed a kibosh on such practices and limited the prescribing practices for treating pain to only the maximum recommended daily dose. So, if you were taking the...

Hey I just moved from pa to ky and looking for a dr that will prescribe my oxycodone 30mg that I have been on for years.. I haven't had any luck finding a dr that will prescribe my meds. I have had several back surgeries and need another surgery but don't have insurance right now. Does anyone know of any doctor around here that will prescribe my meds? I have medical records and MRIs that prove I need surgery and in severe pain!! ## Hi, Sasha! Unfortunately, without insurance it is going to continue to be difficult to find a doctor willing to prescribe it and, if you do find one, you'll be on another adventure to find a pharmacy that will fill it. Paying cash is one way that people have used to doctor and pharmacy hop, in other words to scam and get multiple prescriptions for...
