can oxycod/acetamino 10-325 cause death if used improperly. I started taking this for extreme pain to my lungs, and massive headaches caused by stage 5 COPD. ## Hello, Jeff! How are you? Any medication has the potential to cause a fatal overdose if used improperly. This contains a narcotic, so the risks for it are slightly higher than for something more innocuous like an antibiotic, but they all do carry some risk. Just be careful to only take it according to your doctor's instructions and don't mix it with alcohol. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you have any other questions or concerns?

oxycodone 10mg.-650 and 10mg.-325 which one is the stronger pill ?? ## Well, they both have 10mgs of the narcotic Oxycodone, but one of them has more Acetaminophen, 650mgs, so it would be the stronger tablet in respect to that ingredient. I am allergic to acetametephin and break out in watery sores that itch and burn. I was perscribed an oxycodone 5mg after dental surgury and after about 3 days I broke out in the sores again. Does Oxycodone 5mg have any additive that would act like acetametephin. I can take no pain meds with tylenol or ibuprophen so is there any opioid out there that I can take that wont break me out in these sores? ## What are the markings on the tablets in question? That is what would enable me to check the details for you. Can you please post back? Thank you! It sounds like you might be experiencing an allergic reaction, such as hives, according to NIH warnings. Where are they occurring? How soon do they occur after taking it?

I survived a compression fracture @C5 and then two more medically necessary (surgically induced) fracture/repairs @C5. I walked away after all of that. In 1998 my spinal cord attached to C5 and the repair work has been scratching into the cord ever since. Prescribed Oxycodone Acetaminophen 5-325mg and carefully monitored ever since I am now at 6 pills a day and have held that level for the last 5 years or so. This month my prescription changed to OA 5-3. It is a smaller pill so I am guessing it is 300 mg rather than 325. Is my guess correct? I am in agony from the forced reduction. What else can I take -- in addition to the prescribed oxy -- to compensate for the reduction of the pain med. Something that won't kill me. Is oxycodone 10 mg hcl just as strong as the oxy 10 w/tylonal in them? Does one just have tylonal in it & that's it? ## Tylenol and Acetaminophen are the same thing. Tylenol is the brand name for Acetaminophen. ## @Archangel, A 10mg Oxycodone with the addition of Acetaminophen is most certainly going to be stronger than a 10mg Oxycodone tablet in and of itself. Acetaminophen is just there for those who may need a little more relief. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Acetaminophen + Oxycodone Details Are you not noticing much difference between the two, in so far as your pain levels are concerned?

Why has the price increased from approx 8.00 to 40.00 for generic oxycod/acetamino 10-325 in 2013 ## I guess there's no way to truly find out for certain what the underlying reason is, but perhaps it's due to multiple reasons. 1 being that the number of pain patients has significantly increased and still is increasing rapidly. With more demand, there also has to be a steady supply and therefore more value is being placed on the drug itself. I'm sure there are many other factors that are attributing to the high costs as well. This is just one that stands out to me, especially with all the hype going on in Florida where patients seem to be frantically searching for Oxycodone.

I have been taking qty of 120/mo,10-325 (percocet) for 2yrs with no side effects. My new MD reduced the qty to 90 and all was ok. He then reduced the qty to 60/mo 2 weeks ago and now my back pain has increased so much I can no longer continue my 1/2 mile daily walks. On his progressive timetable that qty is to be reduced to 45/mo which will be intolerable. I have had several pain intensive surgeries followed by Dr. prescrptions of Vicodin & Percocet on various occasions in the past. Each time I would have surplus meds (with dispose of dates listed on container) leftover after pain subsided. My question is do these meds have a shelf life where they become ineffective or worse, toxic? ## No, these types of medications do not become toxic, but they will start to lose effectiveness past the expiration date.
