How do you get off of opiates? ## Although I would recommend that your doctor be the one who sets up & monitors your tapering dosage, usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In my opinion, another key component to weaning off is to make yourself a tapering schedule on a calendar in order track your progress and keep you on the right path to complete your goal within a specific time frame. Without a way to track your progress, tapering can sometimes be much more difficult than it needs to be. I hope this advice he...

I've been taking opiates for the past year now after being clean for a year and nine months... I have some zubsolvs 5.7mg. I have four of them... How should I go about getting off? ## Hello, Jesseboi! How are you? You have to wait until you are in full withdrawal, before starting the Zubsolv, otherwise it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

recently had 2 surgeries washed my meds ## @imreadyforit, What is it that you mean when you say that you "washed your meds" after having 2 surgeries? I'd like to help offer some advice or input, but I'm not sure I understand your question, comment, or whatever it is that you might be inquiring about. Are you still taking any opiates for your back after having the surgery? Please post back with more details when you're able to...

Would a doctor rather write scripts gor pain killers or suboxone? I've been on opiates for 10 yrs as has my husband. He was recently put on suboxone and seems to be doing so much better and I'd like to change as well and have had people tell me that a dr would rather prescribe something like suboxone instead of the strong pain killers that I'm currently on...Tia ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? Some doctors do prefer it, due to the fact that the Naloxone in it helps prevent a patient from being able to abuse other opiates. That's why it's also the preferred medication for addiction treatment, now. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. However, it is entirely up to yo...

I.have been on opiate alot of different kinds. I found perkacet to be the best for me cuz I only need 1 sometimes two. I have arthritis pretty bad. So does anyone know the difference between perkadan or perkacet. And how much oxycodone are in them? ## Hello, Sally! How are you? They both contain varying doses of Oxycodone, it's the other ingredient that's different. Percocet couples it with Acetaminophen, while Percodan couples it with Aspirin. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I took 2mg of suboxone yesterday afternoon. It has been a little over 24 hours. I do not use suboxone alot. When will I be able to take an opiate again? ## It's best to leave about 72 hours, between taking Suboxone and another opiate, unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. all of the opiates are secretly being reduced. in drugs that are combined with aspirin Tylenol such as lortab the 7.5mg is no longer made, with doctors not even knowing this. it is the 5mg that is the strongest. the tylanol is not reduced. people in chronic severe pain will not get the relief they are expecting and take more not realizing the toxic effect Tylenol has on the liver. they are also reducing the amount of opiates a dr. can prescribe a month. when the unwinnable war on drugs turns torture and possible liver death we the people need to stand up and scream for the people in to much agony to fight. only 10% of people are junkies, which includes alcoholics.they are born with a chemical imbalance that drives them to abuse whatever substance or behavior. we need to take back our mon...

I was already in full blown withdrawals when I took the test! Will I be okay? I DO have a doctors note and bottle just in case. But I'm wondering if it will even show up positive for opiates?!

I take oxycontin 80 mg and roxicodone. I do not take as many a day as I am suppose to. Can a urine test tell how much i take? ## Yes, there are tests they can use that show the levels of it in your body, rather than just the presence of the medication. I have no way of knowing if that's what they use for you, but these types of tests do exist. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Do you know anything about the type of test they do? ## Molly Woodward.... YES!!! The detailed urinalisis /blood screen will test for the levels of ur meds in ur system. A user was using for months, tried quitting cold turkey with violent, terrible, horrible withdrawal symptoms that finally tapered off, but left with depression. So user went back to using, tried quitting again but this time administered small doses to ward off the withdrawal symptoms, which worked wonderfully. User was very happy about this, though endorphin deficiency sydrome haunted still. A full dependancy on Almighty Creator Father, St. Johns Wort extract along with exercise remedied this and user is a balanced happy person and free of drugs now. ## Hello, Thank you for sharing this! I have been taking prescription pain medication (not prescribed to me) since I was around 14. It started out as just taking a hydro 10 here and there on the weekends. Then I started getting them at school taking more and more at a time. Eventually I got my hands on a 30mg roxy, and snorted it. I have been regularly snorting up to 90-120 mg a day for over a year now. I know I have an addiction, but Its just so hard to come off of them. I can't sleep, I get diarrhea, my body shakes and sweats. I have pains all over and all I can do is cry. I don't have time in between working and taking care of my hubby to just take a couple weeks off life to sleep off my withdraws. I like snorting them, I love the way they make me feel, and they don't keep me for days on end, and I can eat wh...

I have been on percocet and percocet er. My doctor put me on wellbutrin for depression. Do these mix well together? Could some of the depression come from being on opiates for so long? ## Yes, opiates actually work as a depressant, according to NIH reports. Other side effects may including dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. However, there is no Percocet ER. What exactly where you taking? Was it Oxycontin?
