Hey, I'm going to start using novelon for the first time. My period started on Thursday night, but mistakenly, I took the pill marked 'monday' and that too only at about 11 am on Friday morning (because I woke up to see that I had gotten my period). What should I do now- do I need to take pills marked for thursday and friday, or does the day marked not matter? Thanks!

Hey my period was about to start two days back but it hasn't yet. My wedding is in 5 days. And I want to start oc pills for the first time. i had a cyst in my right ovary doctor prescribed me to take novelon for 3 month 21 tablets from the fifth day of my period.i completef one month course and in next month i missed 4 days in taking the tablets on fifth day when i take the medicine my period started again.so i stopprd my tablets again now what do i do ## Continue taking them, as prescribed by our doctor, unless they instruct otherwise. There is no need to stop, just because you had some bleeding from missing several tablets, that is completely normal. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, headache, dizziness and PMS-like symptoms. From one month my period is going on and,my doctor gives me this novelon tablet for 21 days.But is it right to take because when I read ,it is a contraceptive pill.Then why it is prescribed by doctor to me. ## Novelon contains hormones which can help balance yours out to stop the bleeding, which is most commonly caused by a hormonal imbalance. I was asked to take the novelon tablet for 22 days due to a cyst in my right ovary. After the course of treatment, my scan gave a clear report of normal ovary. I got my period on 29th day. It continued for 4 days with normal flow. Then till 7th day I got little spotting. Then it stopped. Now again on 10th day I have got little spotting. Is anything to worry about. Can respiradone and novelon tablets can used together. I am not getting periods bec of 1mg respiradone tablet so doctor prescribed novelon tablets. Can it be used together. ## Dear Hema, does your Dr know u r on Risperidone? If he's the one who gave u both medications, then u have nothing 2 worry about. Besides, your pharmacy would catch this, if there were a problem.

Hi, I was wondering if I can stop using novelon. It's side effects are too much I am not able to sleep because of the nausea and irritation. I have a cyst for which I am asked to get a surgery done. Another doc asked me to take novelon for a month but it is not at all comfortable. Will there be an issue if I stop it? My periods had just stopped 3 days ago. ## You might experience another period, if you stop it, according to NIH reports. Hello,i was reported with few small overian cyst DR prescribed me novelon tablets for 3 months im almost done with the 2nd month pack .Now on my right breast i have got fibroadenomas 2.4cm ,they say that because of novelon but i am not sure so should i continue with NOVELON as one month is left.And is operation nessessary for fibroadenomas??. Thank You ## Hello, Julie! How are you? No, Fibroadenomas are really harmless, though some may get large and uncomfortable, so if that happens they may be surgically removed. Yes, they are partially hormonally dependent, but that doesn't mean they were definitively caused by the Novelon, they may have grown, anyway. What have you been advised on continuing it?

sir i went for scan yesterday and got the following report mildly bulky uterus with fibriod right ovary cysts internal echoes-suggestive of ? endometriotic cyst ( 5.3 x 3.4 cms, shows cysts with internal echoes measuring 3.7 x 3.0 cms and 1.8 x 1.9 cms. left ovary shows cysts measuring 2.5 x 1.9 cms and 11x9 mm I have not got periods for 4 months and i am 48. dr, has advised me Meprate 10 mg for 2 days and novelon 10. d x 21 for 3 months please suggest me.

It is normal to bleed for several weeks, after having a baby. And yes, if you discontinue it, it may throw your hormones off and cause you to have a period.
