Norspan Pain Patches

I am currently using Norspan patches for the treatment of chronic pain, I am moving to Beijing China and dont know if I can have this medication prescribed in China. Is Norspan available in Beijing China? ## Norspan contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, a very potent narcotic used to treat severe, chronic pain. And, as to what's available in China, I am sorry, but I can't find any information on it. Most other countries are not regulated as strictly as the U.S. and Canada, so it can be very difficult to find such information. Have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist if they have any information? ## Jane says that she has since heard from the pharmaceutical company and they have advised that Norspan is not available in China. Thanks for your replies.

I have been on norspan patches 20mg for 18 months. I have ended up with tinnitus. could you please tell me how to get off norspan ## After 17 months of Norspan use I too concur regard tinnitus and its getting louder. BUT I have had "industrial deafness" for close enough to 30 years anyway and this constant screaming has been so much a part of my life I had all but accepted it. I am finding that the patches are only lasting me 5 days and not 7 as designed. I cannot take pills due to the other meds I must take for the heart valve and diabetes. Its some balancing act trust me. I am tired of it and would dearly like to find a different way to control my arthritic pain. My Doc has prescribed 2 sizes of patches and we are about to try 20ug first and a 5ug some 3 or 4 days later in an ...

I had a 5 mcg patch for one week..no good I have had a 10mcg patch for 3 days..still have pain but have side affects badly I want to stop using them. Please give me a run down on how to come off slowly: as in.. can I replace the 10 with a five , for how long, what next ## Hello, Graham! How are you? How long have you been using any type of opiate pain relief, such as this? If you've been taking opiates for a long period of time, then you'll likely need to taper very slowly to minimize the possible withdrawal symptoms and rebound effects, as directed by the FDA. However, if this is the first one you've tried and you've not been on it for that long, you won't need such a long, gradual taper. The FDA lists this as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to b...

HEY DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANY PAIN PATCHES THAT START WITH THE LETTER N ## Hi Wormie, Based on my research, Norspan patch (buprenorphine) is the only relevant match I'm finding that begins with a letter N. The manufacturer advertises it towards treating chronic severe pain when lower doses of strong opioids are being considered. However, further notes from the Rational Assessment of Drugs and Research (RADAR) suggest that more familiar opioids such as morphine are generally more preferred for managing chronic pain since they also tend to offer a broader range of dosages and formulations. I hope this helps!

I'm on Norspan 20mg patches (7 day release). I am scheduled to go for bariatric (gastric sleeve) surgery and was wondering what pain relief I can be given/ask for (Pethidine is obviously out as Norspan is an opiate antagonist, but tramadol may work, but is not as strong as pethidine) ## I'm really not sure what all is available for you to use. Have you discussed it with your doctor? It might be necessary for you to stop the Norspan for awhile, before surgery, so other pain medications can be used. In the U.S. in hospital settings, the most commonly used medication is Dilaudid, which contains the potent narcotic analgesic Hydromorphone:
