Next Day Tramadol

I took a Tramadol 50mg, at 6am how long should I wait before taking my Hydrocodone 10/325mg ## It's always best to follow your doctor's dosing instructions, but usually you can just transition smoothly from one opiate to another, at the next scheduled dosing time. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I broke my foot and I'm in severe pain. What I have is called a lisfranc fracture. I was on Tylenol threes and they didn't help and then I got hydrocodone 5 - 3 - 5 and they didn't help the last thing I tried was Oxycodone 5 325 and they still didn't really take the pain away. So I asked my doctor for something that would help the pain and he prescribed me Tramadol 50 mg. I am apprehensive to get it filled and try it because I'm not reading anything positive about it. Please help! What is the next thing I should ask for if Oxycodone 5 325 isn't helping with my pain? I don't like that it has so much Tylenol in it I would rather have something just for the pain that doesn't include Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Please advise if you can. thank you! ## While being a ...

im asking cause the pharmacy i used made mistakes before i just want to make sure ## Hi Marilyn, How are you? I don't know how all doctors do this, but from my experience.. if the Dr. does allow refills, you'd normally find a date written on the prescription label with a check mark or intitials next to "refills". Sometimes you'll also see on the label that it says "30 day supply" (at which point you'd be out of your medication), depending on how many tablets your doctor instructed you to take within a 24hr period. I hope this helps! ## If you have 180 tramadol (50 mg pills), you can get a refill in 22 days. So, you could probably request the refill about 19 or 20 days after you have received your medication. That's the soonest you could get it. Hope t...

hi. i hope someone can help me with this question. im 29 years old and 4 years ago i started taking tramodal for leg pain. about 6 months ago i took it as usual and i noticed it didnt have any of the effects it used to have on my mood. before then it would always lift it. i kept taking it bcause i was very addicted. after a few days i started getting very nauseas like i was sea sick when i took it. then next thing i know i would cry for no reason. ive never had problems with deppression my whole life. ive always been very happy and loved life. well soon after i was still taking it and when i wd get off work n go home all i could do was pace around and cry. i felt so guilty for no reason.things i used to feel good about i no longer did. seemed like everything was unpleasant. so i decided...

So I had taken tramadol a couple times in the past. I started out taking 6 pills at 50 mg each. The second time I did it I took 6 as well and my tolerance had already built up on them and they did next to nothing. A few days later I decided to up my dosage to 8 pills or 400mg along with about 1 1/2 beers. I got home that night and went to bed around midnight feeling pretty medicated. I woke up at 2:30am covered in vomit surrounded by paramedics wondering what the f*** just happened. Turns out I had a seizure and was throwing up the nastiest brown colored vomit I've ever seen. So they took me to the hospital and they did several tests, I never told them I OD'ed. While there I had serious back pain and after I got released I had some X-rays done, and from the seizure I had a compr...

I am prescribed tramadol every 4-6 hours, 1 tablet or as needed. I do take what I am asked plus an extra if needed because of my back pain. I'm currently on my last 3 and am prescribed 60. Is this a 30 day supply and am I able to get refilled? I just need to know so I can know whether or not to ask for another refill or not if I should wait until the 9th of next month or not? ## Glittergirl, First of all your tramadol is a prn order, meaning to be taken ONLY WHEN NEEDED, NOT AROUND THE CLOCK DOSING. Your labeling instructions are ambiguous. A BID order of 60 should last 30 days. This rx like others can be habit forming so doctors prescribe them with a degree of caution. You should only take direction from your prescribing professional or a RPh if unavailable. This class of drugs has...

My wife has been taking Tramadol for 4 weeks for hip paint before hip replacement surgery next month. It worked fine for the pain. However, she has visoin problems. She is very light sensative and wears sunglasses and stays in rooms with blinds pulled. Her pupils appear over dialated and do not responde at the same speed to light (opening or closing). This has bothered her to the extent that she holds and moves her head in funny ways. She seems to be always trying to look down to keep light out of her eyes. Her head movements remind me of the way some blind people seem go constantly move their heads. She ahs tight and soar neck muscles. SHe hold thing very close to her eyes to see what they are. She is a purchasing agent and this week is almost unable to read the paperwork to do her job...

I have a rheumatoid condition and am prescribed both Oxycodone and Tramadol. I alternate between them, not wishing to become addicted. What I'm unsure of is whether they are different enough chemically to prevent my body getting too used to either one. I also take a day off here and there, but I just feel very wary. I have to do pain management, but I just want to verify that taking Oxycodone one day and Tramadol the next doesn't strike my body chemically as being the same thing. Many thanks for any helpful response! ## There is a difference between addiction and tolerance of pain medicines. When you regularly take almost any medication your body can build up a tolerance to the medicine, which will leave a chronic pain patient need dosage adjustments. This is the reason the pain...

I have long standing osteoarthritis, with significant degenerative changes I did have a cervical fusion 20years ago & I attend a neurology clinic every 3 months. Over the last year I have had significant changes in pain & movement. I have been using a 50mg Indomethocid suppository along with 20mg of Amitriptyline at night which works well However during the day where I once used steriods I have now been prescribed 50mgTramadol. This is a new regime so I can give no real feed back . However the Pain clinic suggest I rather use Lyrica, this I'm reluctant to try as this seems a pain solution, I need an antiinflmmatory (for movement) and a pain solution for when movement is limited.A double edged sword. Although I am 77 yrs old I still need to function. My next visit to the Neuro...

My husband is prescribed tramadol, he takes 50mg tablets, 1 pill 4 times daily. But for the last 2 months they said his urine test at the Dr is negative for tramadol. He has taken them every day as prescribed for 2 years as part of his pain regiment for his auto immune diseases. The doctor said if his lab work next month is negative of tramadol again, he will dismiss him as a patient. My husband has 5 auto immune diseases and it took 3 years to get to a doctor who could figure out what was going on and get him on treatments. If he's dismissed, he will lose his biologics treatment for the illness, not just pain relief. Does anyone know why his tramadol is not showing up in the lab work??? I'm at a loss! ## 2 possible reasons...Someone is swapping out his meds with a look-alike or...

I was taking hydrocodone 7.750 now they have me on norco 10/325. I don't feel that the new medication is working as well, I get really upset stomach aches and also takes long to heal my pain which I have two bad disc the pain is so bad like if I'm about to give birth or if someone is tearing my back apart, can somebody help me please. ## All of these are opiate analgesics, but Tramadol is the weakest of what you've listed, Hydrocodone would be next and Oxycodone is the strongest of these. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, if the Norco isn't working, you may want to speak to your doctor about trying Oxycodone or Percocet, which combin...

Sixty five and just got the mandatory Medicare but also have a PPO since March. My previous plan, an HMO would only provide me with 40 Vicodin a month for my daily back pain which includes scoliosis, spurs, two very degenerated discs, annular tear, sciatica and some other issues if can't even remember. I've had the epidural several times with minor relief, PT, neurontin, tramadol (does zip). After the big conspiracy by the FDA was enacted in Nov, I was cut off with no referral. I know that some people abuse their pain meds, but 40 a month? Come on. They even cut my friend off that has severe MS all because of this FDA thing. I was still hurting rationing 40 pills a month. My primary told me that Americans are too dependent on pain meds. She said that in her country of Paraguay p...

I was addicted to tramadol for three years. I was in bad car accident, and prescribed 4 50 MG tablets per day. At first they were great. Managed my pain, gave me energy, made me last longer in bed to name a few. Six months into my treatment I noticed I was always running out before my next refill. I went on line a Dr called me and I had 180 next day. This Dr per scribed me 8 50mg. I took this dose for two and a half years. I also started taking mmj which intensified the effects. My actual Dr said I didn't need any more. I disagreed because they help me. August 15,15 tramadol becomes a controlled subtance. Three weeks prior to this date I decided I was going to stop. I read on the internet that the best way to stop was to slowly take less over a few weeks. I had a hard time doing thi...

Went to my sub. dr. yesterday and he lowered my dose of 12mg per day to 8mg. or one film strip. I told him I want to get off sub. completely so he,s gonna taper me down to very low dose. I asked him about WDS. and he assured me that there would be next to none. I doubt this. He told me he would prescribe Tramadol when I got off the Suboxone and then wean me off it. Has any one tried or heard of this method? ## I've not heard of tramadol being used for WDS, but I tried it for pain once. It made me feel creepy, gabe me wierd dreams, and didn't help with my pain ( kind of like me subox expierence). Everyone is different though, and it migh work for you. We are all different. ## I also tried it for pain a long time ago and it did not work. Are you off suboxone, were the wds bad as t...

Using 20 mg morphine sulfate 1x a day along with tramadol, nucynta, soma, voltaren, lexapro, for approx 5 yrs. Talking about suboxone treatment. Im not clear on why. Have not been diagnosed ad an addict. Follow presriptions directions. This usage is due to chronic lumbar back pain. Severe DDD. Can you help me understand why they are considering Suboxone. They want me to stop all prescriptions and start the suboxone? ## Hello, Theresa! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. Suboxone does help some people with severe pain and some doctors also want to use it to see where someone's pain levels are, without all the other medications. They can better evaluate the next treatment steps for where to go. The FDA lists this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the p...

I've been taking tylenol #4 with codeine for over 18 years now for pain management. I would like to know what is the next step up because its not as effective anymore. I currently take 12 tablets a day. ## Hello Thoyt! Wow! I'm sorry you're in so much pain. That's a lot of it to be taken in one day, you're exceeding the 3,000mgs daily limit issued by the FDA or Acetaminophen. This medication is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The next step up would probably be Tramadol or Hydrocodone, with the first being the weakest and they latter being the strongest.
