Hey guys, I've been on oxycontin 80's for 10 years, and the new ops reall suck, but instead of trying all these ways to break them down, try this, I promise on own life it works. Simply cut it into 4 or 5 pieces, take them on an empty stomach, and in 20 minutes you are pain free and aggravation free, and you havnt screwed up all your pills trying to find a way to do them. Sure it takes a little longer to get fully into your system like the instant from banging, but hey if youve been without for days and your sick whats another 15 minutes to wait ? The smaller the pieces the quicker it gets into your blood stream, and empty stomach cuts the time in half again. Trust me it works!! If it didnt I'd have put a gun to my head this morning, My script was filled with ops again this ...

I am truly concerned about all of the people who are chronic pain sufferers who are unable to find satisfactory treatment. Several years ago, after 20 years of taking all of the usual pain meds, I stumbled across the "Spinal Chord Stimulator" and the "Morphine Pain Pump". I have had a pain pump over a year now and it has truly changed my life. Of course, like every new pain treatment, they were only used on cancer patients, etc. But they are being used now for chronic pain sufferers who have a definable, (diagnosed by reputable Dr's) untreatable pain source. The company that manufactures these products is MEDTRONICS. I promise you I do not work for them and I am not being compensated for this. I just know what it is like to suffer debilitating pain. I also understand...

I am currently on 4 30mg oxycodone ir a day and 2 2mg dillaudid a day. I've had 2 major surgeries and I'm I'm only 24 and day in day out in extreme constant pain. My question is would switching to OxyContin the new formula be as effective? Does it have the same euphoria or is it less effective than what I'm on? If anybody can help me out with that I would appreciate it. ## One thing I can say right off the bat is that Oxycontin is an extended release formula of Oxycodone. Some people say that it's not quite as potent as its immediate-release counterpart, but offers much longer relief in return. I do think though, that you'd have be your own best judge when it comes to that, since everyone is different. The thread linked below seems to have good information compar...

I am currently on 4 30mg oxycodone ir a day and 2 2mg dillaudid a day and the oxycodone only last 2 hours and the dilaudid doesn't work at all.I've had 2 major surgeries and I'm I'm only 24 and day in day out in extreme constant pain. My question is would switching to OxyContin the new formula be as effective or would swithing to opana be better? Does it have a good euphoria to it Does it have the same euphoria or is it less effective than what I'm on? If anybody can help me out with that I would appreciate it. ## The euphoria that some people experience from these types of medications is purely a temporary side effect and has no bearing on whether or not they are working. It will always wear off as your body gets used to the current dosage and you'd have to keep...

I live in Jasper, Alabama and have been on methadone for 15 years. It's the only thing that's helped during my chemo or when my ruptured disc are bothering me. The doctor I had just up and left and left all his patients hunting a new doctor. Does anyone know a doctor in or around Jasper or Birmingham that I can see that writes Methadone? ## Really, your best bet is to see a new doctor and make sure they get your medical records, so they can speak for themselves. Asking a doctor to prescribe a specific medication is often seen as being drug seeking behavior. Does anyone else have any suggestions to offer? ## Yeah, I'd definitely move from the deep South as fast as possible. Sorry about the comment Florida sounds like your closest bet to find an outpatient treatment center for...

I've been on oxycontin 80s for yrs. A new pain mgmt doctor says I'm taking too much and has also refused to prescribe ativan 1mg 2 per day. I have been on a rollercoaster ride with meds being changed. I was given Zanaflex and Topamaze. Will these meds help me? Oxycontin dropped from 160mg 2xday, to 1 tab 3xday, no anxiety meds. Also changed Soma to Zanaflex. I didn't sleep much before this change, now not more than 2hrs a day. HELP!! A lot of yrs. of pain. I can't work anymore. I've raised a family, been a wife, raised Foster Children (My Children too). I love them all. I'm now a GrandMother that hasn't been there for her Grandbabies. I was put on suboxone almost a year ago because a new pain doctor told me if I didn't switch to it then he couldn't help me. It was the scariest thing I've ever done but I did it. For the first 3 months I hated it. I had horrible insomnia and nausea. Then I go back to the NE pain center and my new pain doc no longer works there!!??? They set me up with another pain doctor but everyone everywhere assumes I got put on suboxone because I was an addict. Anyway I got through it and within a few more weeks, I only felt 100% complete pain relief and was full of energy! I lost 60 pounds! Out was great. Now nearly 6 months later it's like the opposite. I'm not taking it regularly cause it's no longer making my pain go away and my depression is completely out of control. T...

Could someone please advise me , as I have a BIG PROBLEM. I'm suffering from Central Pain SYNDROME following a severe STROKE in 2006 . I was tried on several drugs, but methadone @ 150mg daily is what I've been on for years, which totally destroyed my teeth . In November of 2015, I was told by Pain Management, that because of new federal guidelines that my MME-morphine equivalent MUST BE MUCH LOWER . They started reducing my daily level at that time .Now, 6 months later, I'm now at 20 mg, tomorrow, I go on 15 mg daily, after being on 20 for the last week. I go to the pain clinic Friday and I'm not sure what to ask for, as I need 24 hour pain relief . Could anyone with experience please Help . I'm in a bad situation, but h happy that I'm getting off of the methado...

The Qualitest Brand has fillers. I requested from my DR. Watson Norco..or NORCO ..not generic. I pay $1000 to a Man who I married in a faze of grief & doesn't do anything for me. I called Watson. They said to either ask my DR. for ONLY the Watson Brand or NORCO. Non Generic which would be $30. I've been getting my Norco , the Watson Brand. & Actually a Neurologist is supposed to be calling. Below are two links to new recommendations for prescribing opioids for chronic and acute pain in 2016. If you take opioids for chronic pain or acute pain, you need to read them so you will be prepared for what your dr may be doing regarding prescribing opiates. At the time of this posting these Are Not Laws, they are only recommendations. But, considering how almost all drs are going by other Guidelines and Recommendations like they were laws, these shouldn't be ignored if you want to be prepared. I have been prescribed oxycodone 5 mg. IMM REL capsules to be taken 2-3 every 4 hrs. for shingles pain. I have never taken this before, however I have chronic pain due to a right hip injury 6 years ago and normally take fiorinal #3 for that and also migraine headaches. I am in a'lot of pain and I am praying this med. will help. I was also prescribed lyrica 75 mg, Valtrex and I already take lexapro and zanax if needed. I am very cautious with medicine. Does anyone have any advice for me? ## Oxycodone is a very potent narcotic pain reliever, it is also highly addictive. The IMM REL stands for Immediate Release, which means the medication is released immediately to start helping with your pain, rather than taking 15 to 20 minutes like regular release tablets. Aside from the addictive p...

Is there a rep. for the ppl. who were controlled on 3 OxyContin OC a day, who now suffer and have proved the new OPs DON'T WORK? NO MATTER WHAT PURDUE OR FDA SAY? We need a rep. for us chronic pain patients, who were controlled and NOW SUFFER & CAN'T DO MORE THAN LAY IN BED CRYING. ## Unfortnately, other than reporting your complaints to the FDA, there isn't much else you can do. I'm sorry you are having such a frustrating experience with it. Have you tried to talk to your doctor about using any alternative medications, such as Fentanyl, or the time released Morphine? ## I've been on fentanyl for 15 yrs until they changed patch, it didn't help that's why my dr.put me on OxyContin and that lasted 5 mo. Till they changed to OP, then they stopped working. So ...

I'm looking for a new P. M. Doc in Southern New Jersey. I don't have insurance, so they must take cash. I'm try to get a new MRI, but am unable to stand laying flat for 45± min. I only have recent xrays. My previous MRI's the most recent shows a designation in my spine. Spinal stenosis, spodotheises gr. 2,etc.. I've always been able to handle pain, but this is like being entombed in a mid-evil torture device that no one sees. I feel something different in the last 2 weeks. I went through withdrawal at home, I want to get out of bed, and take a walk without agony again. I honestly thought my Doc was over medicating me, and I was right. Luckily I didn't take, or fill every prescription, so I weaned off EVERYTHING. Big mistake. I'm a 51 year old female. Tra...
