I am a 50 yr old woman. When i checked my thyroid in November 2015, i started Thyronom 75 daily; one in the early morning on an empty stomach (at that time my TSH level was 4.34). Now i checked again on 23/08/16, and my TSH level is 11.34. Doctor instructed Thaironom tablet 75 & 100 to be taken on alternative days. (i.e.one day 75, then next day 100). I just need to confirm why it is increasing? Dear Forum members, Yesterday I havechecked my TSH level in the blod and found to be around 9.54μIU/L. My age is 33 years now. As per my understanding increasing TSH levels decreases the T3 and T4 levels. What kind of medication should I take. ## High TSH levels (if your thyroid and pituitary work properly) increase T4 production, which is converted to T3 by removing one iodine. T3 is very important, if you're a bit h...

I just received my labs, I'm 5'7" 150lbs, black male. My TSH 17.17 and my T4 1.08, I am currently on 100mcg, and my doctor increased me to 125mcg of levothyroxine. Does this seem normal, I was on 200mcg my entire high school and middle school life. Now I'm 23 and this new doctor doesn't seem to think I'll need that much, but I'm trying to join the navy and you can't unless your hypo and it's controlled on meds. ## Also, I've been hypo since I was 10yrs old. Got hashimotos and it did work on my thyroid, currently zero thyroid function and has been like this for over a decade now. ## Hello, Nappyclouds! How are you doing? Can the use of Tryptomer increase TSH thyroid levels? ## No, that is not a normal side effect of this medication, the NIH lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, anxiety, and weight changes. What reason has your doctor given for the elevation? You may just have a thyroid disorder.

My latest TSH result was 0.426...below the normal to low range. My dosage was changed from 0.075 mg to 0.05 mg. Since my TSH was below normal, the latest dosage seems lower than the 0.075. I'm confused... ## @Dona, 0.05mg is indeed a lower dose than 0.075mg. If your thyroid hormone levels were on the low end, it does seem odd to me that the prescribing doctor would lower your dose; especially since levothyroxine is indicated for treating thyroid hormone deficiency... So I think any patient would feel confused by that decision... Have you discussed this predicament with your doctor yet to see what his/her view point is on the matter? Hopefully they had a good reason without trying to jeopardize your treatment. ## Hi. I am 11 weeks pregnant with hypothyroidism. My TSH is 4.6 so my doc...

I have had low thyroid hormone levels for a long time and may have some hopeful advice to others out there. Read about your disease on the internet and understand how you acquired low thyroid hormones. Find the list of symptoms one expects to see over time if unmedicated and the dangers of undiagnosed hypothyroidism. I have chronic migraines and the first time I took the medication for hypothyroidism i suffered an on-going migraine. So, I remained unmedicated until I was sure I couldn't stand it any more - the side effects I mean. I developed many of the symptoms that come with hypothyroidism and they are very difficult. I have acne, arthritis, thinning hair, chronic sleeping, weak and tired, dry eyes, slow metabolism and obesity, depression or for me lack of desire and motivation, ...

these numbers seem to be very misleading. I am in bio-identcal thyroid supplement but even on synthroid the tsh was very high. doctors seem to be mystified and can't get appt. with endocrinologist for 3 months. ## Hi Kathy, Sorry to hear about your situation. I'm not completely familiar with thyroid readings, but if it's of any help, the normal values listed for 'T3' levels are said to be anywhere between 100 - 200 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL). And a typical range for 'T4' is said to be from 4.5 - 11.2 micrograms per deciliter (mcg/dL). There is no definitive answer that I can give you, it depends on your body, how it responds to the medication and what dosage you've been prescribed.
