My tsh is 24. T3 and t4 are normal. I have an anemia value of 9 against a normal value being 11. I also have vitamin d and b12 deficiency. My symptom is severe fatigue. My age is 68. I'm female. Not having any other medications except vitamin c. My doctor started me on a dose of 150mcg thyroxine sodium. Please suggest what dose would be okay and what else I should do? ## My tsh is 0.02 and t3 + t4 are normal.. I'm taking 125mg Thyronorm. Should I continue the same treatment?...kindly suggest.

I'm 30 years old and this is my third day on 0.1 MG of Levo. It was given to me becuase my TSH is 5.8. I'm a very active person I run 30 miles a week and swim 3 times week 20 laps each time. I've always been between 115-125lbs. I like to be at the lower end of that (I'm 5'0) but I find it hard to stick to strict diets, I've always been very hungry. I also tend to be depressed, and have had very painful, periods. So I hope Levo will help me with these things. I take the dose in the morning and then, about 15 min later I just want to go to sleep. This is the only thing the drug has done so far-- I feel find otherwise-- but why is it making me so sleepy? Anyone else have this? It only lasts for about two hours. Is this a sign that I don't have the right dose? ##...

I am a 50 yr old woman. When i checked my thyroid in November 2015, i started Thyronom 75 daily; one in the early morning on an empty stomach (at that time my TSH level was 4.34). Now i checked again on 23/08/16, and my TSH level is 11.34. Doctor instructed Thaironom tablet 75 & 100 to be taken on alternative days. (i.e.one day 75, then next day 100). I just need to confirm why it is increasing? Please give me a reply. {edited for privacy}. ## It is normal for it to change, if you have a thyroid issue and the medication dosage will need to be adjusted accordingly, so you it is best to follow your doctor's instructions. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and hair loss. That is why it is...

levothyroxine 112 mcg tablemyl imprinted m on the front and L 9 on the back ## That is correct. Common side effects to Levothyroxine may include: nausea, drowsiness, nervousness and insomnia. Read more: Do you have any questions? ## I have recently gone from levothrixine 100 yellow to levothrixine 112 pink. I am now feeling tired and anxious/nervous. Is this normal? ## Dec. 2012 I had a thyroidectomy. levothyroxine went from 25, 75, 100 with TSH 77, 20, 5. My dose was just changed from 100 to 112 and I have insomnia. I sleep odd hours and only for one or two hours at a time. This seems to be the story with everyone. Would love a good night's sleep!

My latest TSH result was 0.426...below the normal to low range. My dosage was changed from 0.075 mg to 0.05 mg. Since my TSH was below normal, the latest dosage seems lower than the 0.075. I'm confused... ## @Dona, 0.05mg is indeed a lower dose than 0.075mg. If your thyroid hormone levels were on the low end, it does seem odd to me that the prescribing doctor would lower your dose; especially since levothyroxine is indicated for treating thyroid hormone deficiency... So I think any patient would feel confused by that decision... Have you discussed this predicament with your doctor yet to see what his/her view point is on the matter? Hopefully they had a good reason without trying to jeopardize your treatment. ## Hi. I am 11 weeks pregnant with hypothyroidism. My TSH is 4.6 so my doc...

these numbers seem to be very misleading. I am in bio-identcal thyroid supplement but even on synthroid the tsh was very high. doctors seem to be mystified and can't get appt. with endocrinologist for 3 months. ## Hi Kathy, Sorry to hear about your situation. I'm not completely familiar with thyroid readings, but if it's of any help, the normal values listed for 'T3' levels are said to be anywhere between 100 - 200 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL). And a typical range for 'T4' is said to be from 4.5 - 11.2 micrograms per deciliter (mcg/dL). Can someone please explain what the difference is between taking 100mg of levothyroxine 7 days a week versus taking 112mg of levothyroxine 4 1/2 days a week? I was originally taking 110 mg everyday and then my endo increased it to 112 mg everyday. After lab work showed my TSH level was now under the normal range my endo told me to take 112 mg 4 1/2 days a week (M, T, F, Sat and 1/2 on Sun). Is there a reason for not taking it two days in a row? Although the mg are higher the weekly total has actually decreased. So what is the reasoning behind the way endo's have to take this medication? ## Hello, Erika! How are you? Your doctor is trying to keep your levels in the normal range, without going too high or too low. It's been found that dosing this way can work better, in some peopl...

I have been on synthroid for approx 11 years. Some of my symptoms never went away. Cold hands &feet, losing (it does grow back, but I have a million baby hairs on my head) hair, etc. I read somewhere that changing from a strictly T4 (Synthroid) to a T3T4 (Armour) thyroid medicine would help. My doctor gave me the new medicine Armour 1 GR (60mg). I was on synthroid 0.112MG). Did my doc give me too high a dose of the new amrour medicine? I want my symptoms to go away but I don't want to overdose. Help! ## I was on Synthroid 0.112mg and the Dr. put me on Armour Thyroid 3GR. which is 180mg. I would say that your dose is closer to the equivelant of Synthroid then mine. I don't know what my last TSH, T4 levels were so I hope thats why he gave me such a high dose... All I know is I...

Hi there- I have suffered from M.E. for 11 years- which, I know, has very similar symptoms to hypothyroid- Anyway, I had to have blood tests done for a private clinic in 2010- My GP did these tests, but I was never called in to discuss the results... Luckily, my nutritionist picked up on the low level of serum ferritin(7) and started me on a gentle Iron preparation- But my TSH levels were 5.13 and T4 14- My M.E. seemed to be worsening, especially 'brainfog'- and I have been through the Menopause now- so I asked for more tests and my thyroid levels are now TSH 5.30 and T4 12- I have had no help from my Doctors in 11 years so it was no surprise when, instead of calling in(I'mhousebound) A GP who I have never seen, rang me- Said it was 'my call' if I wanted to start med...

It has been 3 yrs now that i didnt conceive after it. the problem now is i started gaining weight every month & slowly my legs got swollen and i was becoming much obese day by day so after consultation by our family doctor he advised me to go for a thyroid test t3, t4, & tsh. I've been taking Synthroid 112 mcg for six months following a total thyroidectomy and I experience confusion, hard time concentrating, night sweats, problems walking (like a drunken sailor), general "spaced out" feeling, and awful depression. I think the dose is wrong, but doctor just looks at TSH numbers (last TSH was 2..53 and T4 was 1.6) and says everything is OK. It is not! I don't know what to do... ## Don't let any dr tell you what your body needs - figure it out yourself. Sir I want to know is it to be continued for many yers or may be discontinued. Thanks ## sarafeen, what has your doctor advised? Levothyroxine is a naturally occurring hormone in the body, so in these doses that usually just replace what your body is missing, it hasn't been known to cause harm to the baby. And Ram, it's really going to depend on how you respond to the current dosage of the medication. Have you talked to your doctor about it?...

I took Levoxyl for about 10 years. I have tried almost all other drugs synthroid, unithroid, armour, cytomel and Levoxyl worked the best, when it went off the market they put me on generics and that didn't work. I than tried tirosint that was stronger than my 137 mg levoxyl. When I heard Levoxyl was again available I got my prescription refilled and thought I'm going to feel better again. I did'nt, I'm not sure that they haven't changed the formulation . Has anyone else had the same situation? ## I've taken it for 24 years prior to it going off the market & always felt fine. Since it was reintroduced I also have not felt well. In fact on the same dose, my TSH was 19.8 when analyzed 11/2015!! Doc has no answer for me. Thinks it is absorption problem. I told hi...

I had a THYROIDECTOMY on Jan 2006 and was taking 50MCG levothyroid hormone ever since. I was doing well untill Apr 08 when I told my doctor that I was planning to get pregnant, she increased my dosage to 75MCG. It turned out aweful to me despite the doctor said that TSH falled into a lower safe range for pregnancy. I felt palpitation and sweatering in the first month and starting October I had trouble sleeping becuase whenever I laid down I felt palpitation and tight chest such that I had to put a pillow behind my upper back to get a whole sleep for a few days, And these symptoms scare me most because It's like haert failure, which could be a side effect of thyroxine! My BP--once measured in clinic 110/80-- scared me off because it was 90/60 for my 30 years of life and never changed...

I had two radio-iodine treatments to kill my thyroid, which was extremely over active, approx. 6 yrs ago. I have been on Levthyroxine for about 5-1/2 yrs now and do not experience the things a lot of you are. No hair loss (I have very thick hair), no dizziness, panic attacks, etc. HOWEVER I am going through menopause now also (at 53) and can't lose weight, the insomnia is rather bad along with the night sweats. Could it be from menopause? I check my levels every 6 months with my Dr. as I recommend everyone to do. I'm going to ask him about Synthroid next time I'm in. He will not prescribe a higher dose than what I have now (112 mg) as he doesn't want the Levothyroxine to affect my joints/bones in the long run and my TSH levels he keeps on the higher side already. The wei...
