Found a round white pill made by Rugby with the numbers 3977 on it. Trying to figure out what it was for. ## Was it found in the U.S. or elsewhere? I am not finding a pill with 3977 on it in any of the U.S. prescription drug databases. Does it also say Rugby on it? There is a good possibility that it is something available over the counter or a foreign medication. Does anyone else recognize this tablet? ## Pill clearly says RUGBY on it on one side. Numbers 3977 on the other side. Checked PDR's as far back as the 80's but no listing. My doctor gave me these and told me he could prescribe them because they had such a low dose of hydracodone in them that, being a non-narcotic doctor, Id bot have to drive to pick up a script paper. Yet I'm seeing people on here say its just acetaminaphin. What is it, please? L014? ## These tablets contain 500mgs of Acetaminophen, they are generic, or store brand of Tylenol. They don't contain any narcotics of any type and are available over the counter. Learn more Acetaminophen information here. There really is no such thing as narcotic and non-narcotic doctors. Except for in certain cases of addiction treatment, any doctor can prescribe a narcotic for pain to their patients, they just have to be careful to log the prescriptions and follow the relevant laws. Thank You. ## I haven't been able to find a definitive identification for this, we've had several people ask about it. However, one of our forum posts said that they had purchased it as a generic for Mucinex, which contains the active ingredient Guaifenesin and is a decongestant. What we do know, however, is that the pills with the PH marking are over the counter products. Is anyone else fa...

I just saw this on the news. They were talking about the drug Fentanyl and that it's deadly just to touch it. It had A335 on it. ## It is not deadly just to touch it, however, Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic that is used to treat severe pain, so one should not take it, unless it has been prescribed by their doctor. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Also, it does need to be kept out of the reach of children and pets, it should not be used by those that are not opiate tolerant. There is also no tablet with this marking on it that contains Fentanyl, so I am not sure what they were using for the news story. Sometimes it is just a stock image. Can you s...

Prednisone for my cat. Can prednisone 5 mg for humans be substituted for the cat since medications are running low? ## Prednisone will kill cats. It's for dogs only according to my vet. The one for cats is called Prednisolone 5 mg. ## In veterinary manuals, it is warned this it should be avoided in pregnant cats, and kittens, but it can be used in adult cats, if your vet approves. There are risks associated with giving any medication to you pet, just like there are with people, but both Prednisolone and Prednisone can be used in cats and dogs. However, your vet really has the final say on that, so I would suggest asking them, just to be careful. Your cat may not need a longer course of it, or they may want to explore a different treatment option. How is your cat doing?

white, oblong pill with L 2 imprint and scored in middle on the back. Cannot find anything on various sites ## I don't have sufficient evidence to say for sure, but the pill might be ibuprofen made by Perrigo. It's oblong and white, and the imprint can easily be mistaken for 12 or l2. The tablet is not scored as you say, but it does have a hifen (dash) in-between the "l-2". There's also an antidiarrheal tablet (by the name of Loperamide) that fits your pill description more accurately as far as being an oblong pill that is scored on the back with "L2" on the front. But this pill is very pale green as opposed to white. Any thoughts on either of these being a match? ## avid - thanks for your input.
