I have been on soma for about eight years. It really is the only muscle relaxer to really help. But recently most all doctors here in Georgia have stopped prescribing them. Do you know why this would be and are there any other muscle relaxers that may be similar to soma? ## The laws were changed a few years ago and Soma was made a controlled substance. You will find better medicine in the Muscle Relaxer family although it will not feel like Soma does ## There is really none comparable, it was the strongest one available. I've done well with both Flexeril and Skelaxin, but they may not work as well for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have degenerative spine disea...

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, sedation, and dry mouth. Are there any other questions? ## Cyclobenzaprine is Flexeril, Brand name. It's very old medication and I took it for years because there weren't many choices in the 80's or 90's. Then there was Robaxin. I'm now on Baclofen, 3 20 mg. a day. It helps a little. But honestly theres nothing in my opinion that works like Soma. What's happened is people have abused that Drug too!! So the FDA is coming down on insurance co.to quit paying for ...

Is there a rebate card available for Soma? I have ins. but it's still an expensive co-pay. ## Um I get 90 pills for about $1.92, Soma is very inexpensive, on the Walmart $4.00 list ## I have a pinched nerve in my left shoulder and it goes across and down my back causing my muscle to stand up on my shoulder and it's painful and burns. Soma 350mg helps but my doctor said they couldn't write them anymore. I have tried different muscle relaxers and none work but soma (carisoprodol). Does anyone have feedback on the efficacy of methocarbamol?

My doctor has told me that that soma is a narcotic and she does not want to prescribe it to me any more. I suffer from chronic back pain as well as muscle spasms. I have tried other muscle relaxers as well as anti inflamatories and none of then do not work. Soma is the only one I have found to work for me without making me sleepy. Any information you can give me i would really appreciate. Thank you, Dana ## No, it is not a narcotic, nor is it related to opioid pain relievers. Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol. It has, however, been known to be habit forming and to be abused, by some people. ## Soma - Do they come up on a U/A? Since you say it's not a narcotic what do they come up as? ## I have ankylosing spondylitis. Other than the Enbrel and other such meds, what is ...

My insurance company stopped filling my prescription of Soma because it is not in their health care plan formula. What are the top five that work as well as Soma (Carisoprodol)? ## Then Stan you reach in your pocket and pull out the $4 it costs for Soma. I pay $2. The insurance company doesn't dictate what medicines you can take, only which ones they might not pay for? ## Unfortunately, there is really no top options list that anyone can give you, there are no others that are as strong as Soma, at this time, and which other one might help can vary from person to person. If you can't afford to pay for it out of pocket, as Eddy suggested, you might want to consult your doctor about which one they think would be best for you to try. Personally, I had great results with Skelaxin, wh...

I have severe back and hip pain, my right hip has dropped down almost a half inch causing my back bone to off center. I have tried multiple forms of treatment with no success. I have taken a variety of muscle relaxers, and none of them have worked. I am currently taking 20 mg of baclofen 3 times a day. It's this something I can increase in dosage, or is there a stronger muscle relaxer? I really NEED to relieve the tension in my hip. ## Hello, Megan! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. You shouldn't take more of the Baclofen than your doctor has prescribed. Taking to much could cause dangerous depression of the central nervous system, which could be fatal, since it can lower heart rate and breath rate. Which other ones have you tried? Soma, which contains the...

small round orange pill.. has number A301 ## This tablet contains 10mgs of Cyclobenzaprine, a generic for Flexeril. This, however, is NOT the strongest muscle relaxant available, Soma or Skelaxin are both much stronger, this one is fairly mild. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. You can read more on this medication here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## My insurance refuses to copay for Soma, when I asked my De about it he said that a would have a difficult tile finding a Dr who would write a script for Soma as they found that it was addicting.

## What is this medication prescribed for? ## Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxant. It is used to treat injuries and other painful muscular conditions. I am thinking it's similar to Soma (?) ## I currently take this medication and it is a muscle relaxer but also used as a sleep aid. It is the same as Soma. It's the generic substitute... I've had good results with it and no side effects except it makes me sleepy. ## It is the active ingredient in Soma, so it is the generic for it. It is used to treat the pain associated with muscle strains, pain, and spasms. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?

A round white pill with A 266 on one side, what is it? ## I believe this is a generic Soma. They are different than the ones that I now get from the pharmacy but I was told they were Soma and saw somewhere else on the internet that they were. If anyone else knows for sure, please let me know because I'm not taking it until I am 100% positive that is what it is! THANKS!! ## I saw your post on the Soma muscle relaxant on the Prescription Drug Info site. Your were not sure about the accuracy of the generic substitute A266. This is a valid generic substitute. In my experience, most generic substitutes of any kind of medication are not as effective in strength or duration. However if procured from a reputable pharmacy, the safety issue is moot. It is much better to purchase the original ...

My doctor has prescribed skelaxin for muscle spasms in my hands and feet due to osteoarthritis, it doesn't seem to help very much but I cannot take tizanidine because of serious side effects. (Hallucinations) I currently take Opana ER (10mg 3/day and Percocet 4/day) What other muscle relaxers can be prescribed? ## Hello, Toots! How are you? Two other options would be Carisoprodol (Soma) and Methocarbamol (Robaxin). The FDA lists the typical side effects for them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My doctor decided on Baclofen. It seems to be working pretty well. Thanks for responding!

I have several spine disorders my doctor has me on soma 350 it is the only 1 that helps me at all ## I am glad that you one found that works for you, so well. However, it would be more accurate to say that the Robaxin is the worst choice for you, because there are many other people that use it successfully. However, there is no medication on the market that works well for everyone that tries it, which is why there are usually several available in any given therapeutic category. Are there any comments or questions? ## very true Vernon I am positive for many people robaxin works good. ## i found this pill its round, pinl, says r750 on it what is it ## Are somas and Robaxin in the same category?

Hello, I'm starting the prerequisite withdrawal period before my first suboxone appointment. I would desperately like to know if I can take a xanax or maybe a soma during this period to ease symptoms? Thanks so much for your time... ## Due to the nature of your question, this may be something best answered by your doctor who can make a more informed decision based on your medical records, current health, age, weight, whether or not you're taking any other medications, etc. However based on my research, as long as you're not taking the xanax or soma with suboxone at the same time, you should be fine. Reason being is that there are drug interactions between those medications that may result in increased side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. ...

My husband has severe knee, foot, and muscle pains. His doctor recommended for blood test to find the vitamin D3 levels. The reports showed levels as 5.5. Can this muscle relaxer be taken to help with anxiety? ## Yes, as it has some similar properties as anti anxiety medicine. However Soma can also cause anxiety too! ## @Laura, I just did some research and read that Soma (Carisoprodol) can be used for anxiety like Eddy mentioned, however, it's not often prescribed for that because since it's a muscle relaxer it can actually have strong sedation effects. Also, Soma is only meant to be used in the short-term, often less than three weeks. There is a natural muscle relaxer known as valerian root that I've tried for anxiety but it also works for insomnia, and well, it definitely made me calm but also very very sleepy just like the Soma might do. I've also tried holy basil for anxiety- which doesn't make me tired at all! I t...

Muscle relaxer Cor 103 ## I have taken Soma/Carosoprodol 350 mg X 4 a day for 5 years. They do very little but relieve nureuthopy (spl). However, I recently got a prescription for Soma cor 103 and they messed me up. I am not taking them. All the other brands act the same, but this cor 103 acts more like a narcotic, and I do not take narcotics. ## Yes, COR 103 is Carisoprodol 350mgs, a generic for Soma. So not a narcotic at all. However, the reason it could be causing you to feel that way is the real nature of generic drugs and the laws that control the making of them. In truth, generic drugs are allowed to differ, in the ACTIVE ingredient, from their name brand counterparts by as much as PLUS or MINUS 20%. In addition, it DOES NOT necessarily have to be the same exact active ingredient ...

It's not a Percocet opiate or any other narotic! It is a basic muscle relaxer. Somas work the best for muscle problems. Don't let them say no or screw u. You will barely notice anything from this substitute!!!! ## Mobic is not a muscle relaxant, it contains the active ingredient Meloxicam, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything I can help with?

Can I use soma for pain killer ## no ## Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol, it is muscle relaxant, so it can only help with pain associated with muscle sprains, strains and spasms. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Learn more Soma details here. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Soma is basically a muscle relaxer with active compound Carisoprodol that helps to control prolonged pains. Though Soma is used to treat several pains including joint pains and other physical pains. Also Soma should not be taken without doctor prescription.
