3 Blood Pressure Medications
5 years ago my father had a double bypass and was prescribed Felodipine, Atenolol, and Clopidogrel. He is still taking them and now has signs of low blood pressure and orthostatic hypotension. He has confusion, dizzy spells, shakes, and has fallen several times now. is the 3 prescribed medications a common combination and/or can it be the cause of his recent episodes? ## Yes, prescribing several to get better control of blood pressure and to stabilize cardiac conditions is completely normal. However, our bodies do change with time, so what worked well for years may suddenly start causing problems. The Clopidogrel is used to prevent clotting, not to control blood pressure. Learn more Clopidogrel details here. So that means that if his BP is going too low, the likely cuplrits would be the... ...

Questioning this medication
My pharmacy recently switched my generic for Aviane , Lutera to Falmina. I work at an OBGYN and know that it sometimes causes problems when they switch it up on you. I wasnt really having problems with the Lutera, i mean i didnt have awesome acne control with it but it wasnt horrible. Well i was switched to this Falmina and have read 4 reviews on WebMd that are horrible! Belly pain, chest pain, migraines and weight gain? I was on Yasmin before which was amazing and cleared my skin right up but i gained 30 pounds on it. Im worried about gaining weight on this one! Has anyone tried this and done well with it? I know everyone is different but its always nice to have input! ## Hello, Tennisgirl! How are you? While your pharmacy can switch which generic they give you, the dosage should be th... ...

confused blood pressure meds
I used to have good blood pressure relief with Atacand HCT 32 strength . The doctors now seem to prefer lisinopril. I thought they were very similar and am thinking of asking to switch back. Has Atacand fallen out of favor for some reason? ## No, it hasn't fallen out of favor, per se, but doctors do tend to prefer to prescribe the medications they are most familiar with. I've been in the ER before and had a doctor give me an attitude questioning the medications I am on, because one is Atacand and it's just not the first choice to be used, anymore. However, I refused to let them make changes or carry on about it, figuring that my cardio doc knows best and she really worked closely with me for about a year, until we found the right medications for me that worked, without makin... ...

Any help with depression meds
I just started the Chantix today and am very scared due to my history of depression. Will it come again? I only seem to get "situational depression" due to bad life events. So, does anyone know if there are depression meds that are safe to take along with Chantix? Over the counter would be best. Thanks! ## Dont Do It, Chantix very bad!! took It for five days ruined my life..Another guy In AA asked me about IT ,told him not to take It he started drinking again and blew his brains out ## Some one I know was taking it to get off cigs. It wasen't worth it, she had bad dreams, hair fell out.She was a total wreck. ## Like any other medication, Chantix works well for some people and not so well for others, then there are always those that have bad reactions to it, such as those that... ...

estratest ds replacement med
I' ve been a mess since the change from estratrest ds. I also have low thyroid. I have recently heard that the estrogen directly affects or cancels out to some extent the thyroid replacement hormones. I've gained a lot of weight and been depressed and have been having body & joint pain since they decided to have the pharmacist custom make my hrt meds. now they have changed them again with 1.25 estrogenm 1 mg progesterone (to counteract breast cancer risk), 2 mg testerone & 10 ng DHE (to increase the benefits of testerone without negative side effects) the pharm. said. strong non narcotic pain meds?
I will be having wisdom teeth pulled. I would like to know what options are availiable for non narcotic pain relief. Preferably the strongest. I will be able to get a prescription, but I would like to avoid opiates or opioids. ## Wow, that's kind of difficult, because knocking out the opiates leaves only options for minimal pain relief. In many cases, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory would be prescribed, such as just a strong dose of Ibuprofen, but that can depend on how complicated the extractions are and how much you're bleeding afterwards. Learn more Ibuprofen details here. Are they being done in office, or as surgical extractions? ...

Getting used to your pain meds.
My Doctor Always Tells Me It Is The Nature Of All Pain Medications That After Taking Em For A While Effect U Got First Seems To Start Decline This Should Be Obvious As Body Gets Used Get Less And Then Need Stronger Dosage So On When Are They Gonna Create Med Keeps Working Everytime Take Without Having Increase Same Or Amount Relief ## Due to the way the human body works, the answer to your question is never, it isn't possible for them to create one that will do that. Your body will eventually get used to any thing that you ingest regularly, from a medication to your morning coffee and the effects it had at the beginning will start to wear off. If you want the same effects back, you'll always have to adjust the amount you take in, switch to something else, or take a break from it... ...

do you chew or swallow this med
the pharmacist wasn't very clear on the directions and this is a very large pill so I didn't know if my son could swallow this or not or if I could break it in half it is pink and has rx 763 on the front of it. ## Hi Teresa, The pill which you have is the 875 mg dose of Amoxicillin manufactured by Ranbaxy. You should be able to break it in half at the score mark and have your son swallow each half of the pill seperately. As far as the dosage goes, I would be sure to follow the instructions on the prescription label - So if your son is supposed to take the 875 mg each time, then please ensure he is getting the full dose (even if you're breaking the pill in half). Hope this helps. If you have any other questions or information to add please post back. ...

I need a time released pain med
I have been taking Lortab 10/500 3 times a day for about 2 years for fibromyalgia,, bulging discs, arthritis and connective tissue disorder. I seem to be getting worse and as long as I can keep taking it within about 5 hours during the day and at bedtime, I can tolerate the pain. I want to take a 3 wk vacation, but the flight and driving is going to kill me. Is there anything I can suggest to my doctor that will be time released, but not knock me out where I can actually enjoy my time? I feel as though I have to do this before I get so bad I can't leave my community or my house. Any suggestions? ## In my honest opinion, the doctors should be fixing the "cause" of the pain, and not trying to "cover it up" with prescription meds. You shouldn't have to worry about y... ...

Drug Expiration Date After Fill Quetiapine Fumarate
When will 50 mg of quetiapine fumarate expire once the prescription is filled? ## Based on my research, Quetiapine fumarate has an expected shelf life of 36 months (or 3 years). However it's come to my knowledge from a Harvard Medical School family health article, that most medications can last up to 10-15 years without expressing many signs of degradation or loss in potency. So you shouldn't have any problems using it later down the road as long as it's stored properly. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Quetiapine Details I hope this helps! ...
